This week's host for the first hour is Hypnotised, hailing from Ghent, Belgium—a city known for the inception of iconic parties like "I Love Techno" and "10 Days of Techno." In those early days, he played a blend of genres in Ghent's largest party zone. Nowadays, he captivates audiences with deep progressive and tech sounds. Alongside his accomplice PatriZe, he hosts the renowned radio show "After Hours," broadcasted on three global stations: TM Radio (USA), Cosmos Radio (Germany), and Scientific Sound Asia (Vietnam).

In addition to their weekly show, they also present a monthly show called "AH Digital Essentials" on Proton Radio (USA). Hypnotised hosts another monthly show, “Energetic,” on Progressive Beats Radio (Germany). Due to his captivating sets, he has been invited as a guest on numerous radio stations worldwide, including Ibiza Global Radio, Frisky Radio, DI FM, Golden Wings Music Radio, Insomnia Fm, Groove City Radio, Fnoob Techno Radio, Urgent FM, Ibiza Soul-Radio, and others.

He has played alongside renowned artists such as Marco Bailey, Tom Hades, Purple Disco Machine, Jesse Rose, and Nick Bril at various festivals, events, and clubs. In 2015, Hypnotised began a new chapter by managing his label "AH Digital" and embarking on his producing career. His releases frequently climb the "Beatport top 100 releases" and receive support from many prominent artists in the scene. His debut EP "People from the Otherworld" quickly rose to number 4 on the charts, and its title track was subsequently remixed by the top-selling artist Rui Da Silva.

More recently Hypnotised's EP "Infinity" smashed the Beatport releases charts being at second in both the progressive house and trance charts and third in the techno charts. In 2016 he also started producing under his alter ego “Man on the Moon” where he launched himself off to a fantastic start with his debut "Sense" was signed on the renowned Bonzai label, winning one of Metapop’s remix contests and getting support and airplay on Belgium's best radio station "Studio Brussels".

In addition to his work with AH Digital, he has collaborated with labels such as Bonzai Progressive, Green Martian, SLC-6 Music, Pro-B-Tech Music, Stellar Fountain, Vesta Records, Insomniafm, Abstract Space Records, Eternal Beats, Beat Block Records, Absurd State, Aeriform Records, Morninglory Music, Mystic Carousel Records, Crop Circle, Disposition Recordings, Hot Cue Music, Estribo Records, IN2U Records, and Tech Deluxe. Guest DJ Mike Hiratzka.

This week's guest DJ is Mike Hiratzka, a stalwart of the underground scene for over two decades. His music has earned acclaim from some of the most legendary DJs of our time, including John Digweed, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Lee Burridge, Paul Oakenfold, and many others. Throughout his career, Mike has DJed across the globe, establishing himself in the Americas, the UK, and Asia.

Mike's tracks have been featured on the renowned BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, various mix compilations, and countless radio shows. His productions and remixes have appeared on labels such as Nettwerk, Ultra Music, Lost Language, and Alternative Route Recordings.

Never one to be pigeonholed as a producer, Mike has released a diverse range of music, from club jams to downtempo gems and ambient explorations.

Mike’s deep-seated passion for electronic music stems from the creative freedom it offers artists. As he explains, “The reason I love Electronic music is that everything is possible, there are no limits. You can create whatever sound you hear in your head, from the tastiest analogue synth sound to the most breath-taking ambiences.”

His devotion to Electro is evident in his performances, where he shares with his audience, “I like to take the crowd on a journey, but never lose focus of rocking the dance floor from start to finish. I want my sets to flow with driving rhythms, movements, and melody; psychedelic, synthetic soundscapes to tease your brain and dazzle your ears.”

A serendipitous opportunity in 2010 led Mike to take a decade-long break from full-time music production as he toured with luminaries such as Justin Timberlake, Jay Z, Rihanna, Hugh Jackman, Charlie Puth, and Evanescence. This period was one of great discovery and new inspiration for Mike.

He gained unique global exposure to modern music, experiencing it through the eyes, ears, and voices of millions of audience members, and developed a deeper understanding of music’s universal appeal that transcends cultural borders. During this time, Mike released occasional remixes, including seminal progressive house tracks by Blue Amazon, “Four Seasons,” and “And Then the Rain Falls.”

Now, Mike has returned to devote his time and energy to music. In 2021, he released his debut solo album, “Nish,” an expansive, ethereal record filled with shimmering guitars, deep bass grooves, emotive vocals, and intricate psychedelic sound design.

He followed up with his score EP, which featured more cinematic vibes, driving beats, and pulsing analogue synths. An album titled “Rare and Unreleased” is planned for 2022, featuring some of Mike’s earlier club music remixes. Stay tuned, the best is yet to come.

The show was originally broadcast on Monday, 18 July 2022. You can listen to it using the embedded players on our page.
