Bicycle Corporation guest DJ Giorgio Leone will be presenting his first 'Electronic Roots' show. Scientific Sound Asia radio is the English-language electronic music station for Asia and internationally.

Bicycle Corporation is an Italian pairing of the DJ and producer Marco Mei and the talented Stefano Ugliano, who also goes by the moniker 6884. At the beginning of the nineties, Marco was starting out with his musical journey as a disc jockey and producer.

He began doing his own events as a collective known as Urban People across the length and breadth of Italy. This gained him admiration, and then, after a while, he was offered a residency at Pacha, Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt.

After highlighting his skills at Pacha and gaining more recognition, he started getting DJ bookings at venues across the globe. Thus launching him on a musical journey around the planet to perform on the wheels of steel with renowned stalwarts of the electronic music industry.

Stefano, hailing from Torino, Italy, showed promise as a budding musician right from childhood. He showed a keen interest in the musical arts that soon began to engulf most of his spare time. He studied classical piano, percussion and drums and greatly appreciated Chopin's compositions and the rhythm of West African Djembe.

As he grew, the disc jockey rearing the crowd with electronic beats proved more alluring to the teenage Stefano. His passion for electronic music, which was impossible to find on stations in Italy in the nineties, overcame him and led to the evolution of his production abilities, then, he met Marco and Bicycle Corporation was formed.

Just recently, their earlier tracks have gone out of contract with the original labels, so they have set up a Bandcamp page to distribute them. Electronic Roots is a weekly show highlighting the talent that exists in the Asian electronic music scene and features artists from all over the region.

This week's guest DJ is Giorgio Leone. Born in Catania, Italy, in the early nineties, Giorgio was drawn to production from an early age and became fully immersed in his local DJ and producer community while still a teenager. By sixteen, he had begun shaping his own tracks, and by eighteen, he was performing in some of Catania’s most recognised clubs, earning the momentum that would push him into the wider electronic music world.

Now based in Taipei, Taiwan, Giorgio released his early works, Infectious and Call Me, on the Neu Gravity label, establishing the foundations of his sound. His productions often reflect personal experience, giving his techno an introspective edge beneath the intensity.

In recent years, his studio output has continued to expand with tracks such as Abyssal, Vortex Energy, Dark Frequency, Obsidian, Hades and Cyclone, each showcasing his ability to merge atmospheric tension with powerful club-driven force. Releases like Blackout and Eternal Zero further demonstrate his progression into harder, more immersive techno, pairing thunderous low end with sharp, cinematic detail.

Giorgio’s music is defined by commanding rhythms, dark textures and driving energy that transforms a room instantly. The sound he delivers is bold and ethereal, tailored to ignite any dance floor into a state of raw, euphoric momentum. His intention has always been to craft environments charged with intensity while breaking through the boundaries of conventional techno.

Known for his confident stage presence and ability to hold a crowd from the first moment to the last, Giorgio brings the same intention to every performance. Since relocating to Taiwan, he has also founded the collective “Our Muzik”, a project that pushes Taiwan’s techno scene onto the global stage while supporting their label and local artists. Through his releases, performances and community work, Giorgio Leone continues to shape a forward-moving techno identity built on energy, innovation and absolute dance floor commitment.

The episode opens with driving energy as For a Shadow to Dance With and M#1 bring sharp percussion and a steady push into peak-time territory. Momentum builds quickly through Centric Rotation and Forwer, both carrying the deeper tension that defines much of early modern European techno. Tracks by Keikari and Callum Plant continue this progression, adding darker rhythmic patterns that set the tone for the rest of the first half.

As the session develops, harder cuts such as Plunge, Broken Form, and Ben Long’s remix push the atmosphere towards more industrial edges. Progression, Antelope, and Strobe accelerate the pace while preserving the set’s coherence, embodying the kind of big-room intensity that has shaped many Terminal M, Octopus, and NONSTOP releases. Giorgio Leone’s own Chronicles arrives as a strong midpoint anchor, fitting smoothly into the episode’s forward motion.

In the latter half, the intensity remains constant with standout selections like Fabula, Robot Ride and Hypnosis, each delivering the full weight of contemporary peak-time production. Deeper layers return with Jupiter and Don’t Wanna Be, balancing groove and atmosphere before the set climbs again. Tracks from Raffaele Rizzi and Optimuss push the session toward its final ascent.

The closing stretch brings some of the episode’s most recognisable power. Mars, Uncensored and Mental Expert deliver classic big-room impact before Giorgio Leone signs off with Nomadic and the punch of Bitter End. Episode 04 stands as a tight, high-intensity journey through peak-time and hypnotic techno, elevated by Giorgio Leone’s strong curation and label-driven precision.
