Bicycle Corporation has introduced guest DJ Murphy Kin a.k.a DJ Lucy for his new 'Roots' show. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music station, promoter, and DJ agency for the Asian region and globally.

Exploring the roots of Bicycle Corporation uncovers an intriguing story. The Italian pair consists of the adept DJ and producer Marco Mei, alongside the proficient Stefano Ugliano, also recognized as 6884.

Marco's musical journey commenced in the early nineties with his initiation into DJing and production, hosting events under the alias 'Urban People' throughout Italy. His commitment and inventiveness garnered industry recognition, earning him a residency at the renowned Pacha and subsequent international DJ engagements, launching him into a worldwide musical adventure.

Stefano's musical talent was cultivated in Turin, Italy, where his formative years were characterized by an intense love for music. His varied musical experience, which included classical piano, percussion, and drums, mirrored his wide-ranging tastes and influences.

Yet, it was the charm of electronic music and the dynamic energy of live shows that seized Stefano's imagination. This interest reached its peak in a destiny-filled encounter with Marco, leading to the creation of Bicycle Corporation and laying the groundwork for an extraordinary musical collaboration.

This week's guest DJ is Murphy Kin also known as DJ Lucy. DJ Lucy is always eager to explore new things. Coming from a background in the movie industry, being a DJ and creating music is not only limitless but also boundless.

Lucy's music is a cinematic journey with its highs and lows. It doesn't just stick to building melodies between 125~128 BPM in a predictable 4/4 rhythm. Instead of immediately taking you to a euphoric state at the start of his sets, Lucy gradually introduces you to his beats. He transitions from a slow build-up to romantic rock, classic old-school tunes, and flirtatious R&B, and eventually delves into Disco, Indie, Rock, and Dance genres.

DJ Lucy's music has the power to transport listeners into a cinematic experience, building up to a crescendo with its beats. With a natural inclination towards positivity and energy, DJ Lucy possesses a diverse music palette and a deep understanding of various genres. Through skilful transitions between different styles such as Hip-Hop, Rock, Punk, Indie Rock, and Jazz, he aims to captivate your emotions rhythmically.

DJ Lucy has been leading Ting Ting Disco, renowned for hosting fantastic parties at various bars, pubs, clubs, and venues in Taipei and Shanghai since 2015. From 2017 onwards, Ting Ting Disco expanded its music events to other cities in China and embarked on a continuous tour across Asia.

In 2021, the goal is to offer more than just events by launching online music as well. By gathering and incorporating music creations from around the globe, it offers music enthusiasts a wider variety of musical options.

During live performances, you will discover that he is a musician who operates without constraints or predefined scripts. At times, his performance is influenced by the present moments, vibes, or atmosphere, while other times he takes control like a film director, shaping everyone's mindset. This month, his show will showcase House, 44 Beats, Chillout, Disco, Funk, and Soul.

In Bicycle Corporation’s ‘Roots’ 120, DJ Lucy (Murphy Kin) curates an eclectic mix of House, Disco, Funk, Indie Dance, Italo Disco, and Indie Pop, perfect for listeners who appreciate a wide range of genres. Featuring highlights like Tom Trago’s "Stepping’ Out," Kano’s "It’s A War (Pied Piper Italohouse 12 Inch Mix)," and The Swiss’ "Bubble Bath," this set captures the essence of groove and rhythm.
