Bicycle Corporation has unveiled the playlist for episode 190 of their acclaimed 'Roots' show. Meanwhile, Scientific Sound Asia continues to thrive as a premier electronic music station and DJ agency, serving audiences throughout Asia and beyond with unparalleled dedication.
Bicycle Corporation is a dynamic Italian duo consisting of DJ and producer talents Marco Mei and Stefano Ugliano, known collectively as 6884. Over their extensive tenure in the music industry, the duo has crafted an impressive catalogue of over 50 tracks, exploring a diverse range of genres including French House, Deep House, Tech House, and Techno.
Marco commenced his career journey in the early nineties by organising House Music and Techno events alongside a crew called 'Urban People.' With time, his influence within the music scene flourished, propelling him to become a highly sought-after figure across Italy.
However, Marco's acclaim extended far beyond the confines of his homeland as he began to receive international bookings. His bookings have spanned the globe, signifying a substantial expansion of his career beyond the borders of Italy.
Originating from Torino, Italy, Stefano showcased early signs of musical talent from his childhood years. He demonstrated a passionate interest in the musical arts, dedicating much of his leisure time to its pursuit. Stefano's educational journey led him to study classical piano, percussion, and drums, with a special affinity for the compositions of Chopin and the rhythms of the West African Djembe.
Amidst his immersion in diverse musical genres, Stefano found one particular passion that captured his heart like no other: the art of DJing. As a teenager, Stefano was deeply drawn to the skill and craftsmanship of DJs in manipulating turntables. The beats he encountered in this realm were rarely featured on Italian radio stations of the time, which only added to the allure of DJing as an art form.
For many, the idea of creating and performing such sounds before vast audiences would appear as an unattainable dream. However, Stefano remained undaunted by the hurdles. Through relentless hard work, unwavering dedication, and sheer tenacity, Stefano and Marco introduced Bicycle Corporation to the electronic music world, carving out their place in the industry.
Despite attaining global recognition, Marco and Stefano remain rooted in their origins as teenagers exploring electronic music. Recently, they have revisited some of their earlier tracks, reflecting on their journey in the music scene. Furthermore, they have taken the proactive step of creating a Bandcamp page to distribute these tracks, thereby showcasing their evolution and unwavering commitment to their musical roots.
Their weekly radio show, "Roots," serves as a platform for an eclectic mix of Funk Music, Disco, Afrobeat, Rare Groove, Soul Music, Brazilian, and Soul. With a particular emphasis on artists who embrace Afrocentric styles of music, Marco and Stefano curate a vibrant platform that celebrates diverse musical influences. Broadcasting their show weekly, they remain steadfast in championing the rich tapestry of sounds rooted in Afrocentric traditions.
