Bicycle Corporation is excited to announce that guest DJ Bean There will be featured on their Foundations 95 show. Operating as both an Asian electronic music station and a DJ agency, Scientific Sound Asia serves audiences locally and globally.
The Italian production duo, Bicycle Corporation, consists of DJ and Producer Marco Mei, and Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. Marco began his career as a disc jockey and producer back in the early nineties.
Following his introduction, Marco started organizing unique house music and techno events under the alias 'Urban People' across his native Italy. After a decade in the Italian music scene, he achieved remarkable success and transitioned to Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt. There, he began a residency with the internationally renowned event series Pacha.
Marco's DJ sets and productions caught the attention of audiences worldwide, earning him international bookings. He has graced the decks alongside globally renowned artists such as David Morales, Justin Berkman, Roger Sanchez, Sander Kleinenberg, Harry Romero, Ralph Falcon, and many others.
Stefano, originally from Torino, Italy, showed promising musical talent from an early age. His passion for music became a central focus in his life, occupying much of his spare time. He explored classical piano, percussion, and drums, while also developing a profound appreciation for the works of Chopin and the rhythmic complexities of West African Djembe.
Despite Stefano's broad musical interests, one passion stood out above all others: the art of DJing. From a young age, he was captivated by the allure of the person behind the turntables. The beats and rhythms spun by DJs held a unique appeal for him, particularly given their scarcity on Italian radio stations during that era.
For many, the idea of creating and performing music before large audiences might seem like an unattainable dream. However, Stefano remained undeterred. With a clear vision in mind, he joined forces with Marco and embarked on a journey fuelled by hard work, dedication, and unwavering determination. Together, they brought Stefano's dream to fruition, giving birth to Bicycle Corporation through their collective efforts.
Despite their success, Marco and Stefano have stayed true to their humble origins. Recently, they've taken the time to revisit some of their earlier tracks, reflecting on the journey that has brought them to where they are today. To honour their roots and share their musical evolution, they've set up a Bandcamp page to distribute these earlier works.
