Bicycle Corporation comprises the Italian duo of DJ and producer Marco Mei, alongside the talented Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. Together, they have collectively released over 50 original compositions and remixes spanning the realms of House and Techno.
At the outset of the early nineties, Marco embarked on his musical journey as a disc jockey, captivated by the emergence of Electronic music and Afrocentric sounds. Following his introduction, he delved into organising House Music and Techno events as part of a collective known as Urban People, spanning the breadth of Italy.
Marco's prowess on the decks garnered him significant acclaim, leading to a residency at Pacha, Egypt. This residency not only brought him recognition but also opened doors to DJ bookings internationally, setting him on a musical odyssey across the globe.
Hailing from Torino, Italy, Stefano exhibited remarkable musical aptitude from a young age. He passionately pursued classical piano, percussion, and drums, immersing himself in the works of Chopin and the rhythms of West African Djembe.
As Stefano matured, his fascination with music evolved, and he found himself drawn to the image of the electronic DJ igniting the crowd. Little did he know that those elusive electronic beats, scarcely heard on '90s Italian radio stations, would herald an entirely new chapter in his life.
Despite their current success, Marco and Stefano remain grounded in their humble beginnings. Recently, they've revisited some of their earlier tracks and even established a Bandcamp page to distribute them, showcasing their commitment to their musical roots.
Their House Music radio and Techno radio show, Electronic Roots, serves as a platform that unites a diverse array of DJs and producers from across the Asian electronic music scene. This week's guest on the show is Manny, a French DJ and producer also recognised as Remy Mann. Originally from Paris, Manny currently calls Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, his home. Renowned for his versatile style, Manny transcends genre boundaries, effortlessly navigating Afro-Deep, Electro, Techno, World Disco, and Tribal Deep House.
During his formative years in Paris, Manny spearheaded the organization of events and festivals in the southeast district of the city. Among his notable accomplishments was the establishment of Le Festival Sur Les Pointes, a highly anticipated event that annually drew approximately 7000 attendees. This festival boasted performances from acclaimed acts hailing from various corners of the globe, cementing Manny's reputation as a pivotal figure in the local music scene.
Six years ago, Manny relocated to Vietnam and swiftly immersed himself in the vibrant events scene of Saigon. Continuously captivating audiences, he frequented popular venues such as Indika, Piu Piu, and various beach resorts across Vietnam, further solidifying his presence and influence within the local music community.
Manny continues to be a dynamic presence in Saigon's bustling nightlife scene, gracing venues such as the Lighthouse, Observatory, Arcan, and many others with his electrifying performances. Committed to delivering top-notch music experiences at premier venues, he dedicates himself to keeping audiences entertained and satisfied throughout the night.
