Bicycle Corporation has revealed that DJ Psycho-UK will be the guest for the 100th episode of 'Foundations'. Scientific Sound Asia functions as an electronic music station based in Asia, serving as a DJ agency and promoter for the local and global scenes.

6884, also known as Marco Mei and Stefano Ugliano, form the Italian duo Bicycle Corporation. They have released more than 50 tracks spanning various genres including Deep House, Tech House, French House, and Techno.

Starting in the early nineties, Marco kicked off his career as a crew member for events such as ‘Urban People.’ Over time, he made a name for himself in the music industry and quickly became a sought-after figure throughout Italy. His success didn’t end there, as he soon began receiving bookings from around the world after gaining popularity in his home country.

Stefano, hailing from Torino, Italy, displayed early talent as a musician. His fascination with the musical world started at a young age and gradually took over much of his free time. He delved into classical piano, percussion, and drums, developing a deep admiration for Chopin and West African Djembe.

Despite his deep appreciation for various music genres, Stefano had a special love for one thing above all others: the DJ behind the turntables. The beats played by the DJ were rarely heard on Italian radio stations in the nineties, making them particularly captivating for the teenage Stefano.

For most people, producing those sounds and performing them in front of large audiences would seem impossible. However, Stefano was determined and committed to his vision. With hard work, dedication, and unwavering perseverance, Bicycle Corporation was established.

Even though Marco and Stefan are successful now, they still remember where they started. Lately, they have been revisiting some of their old tracks and have even created a Bandcamp page to share them.

The guest DJ for this week is DJ Psycho-UK, an East London (UK) rude boy, hip hop turntablist, Drum and Bass, House, and multi-genre DJ. DJ Psycho-UK received his first set of turntables when he was just 14 years old and has been playing the dopest beats ever since.

Having come of age during the Golden Age of Hip Hop, Acid House, Hardcore, and Techno, his musical inspirations are wide-ranging, encompassing artists like Public Enemy, KRS1, Run DMC, DJ Hype, Carl Cox, Mickey Finn, A Guy Called Gerald, Leftfield, Portishead, Massive Attack, and numerous others.

Starting his career as a DJ in the underground squat parties of 1990s London, amidst the Hip Hop, Acid House, and Hard-Core scene, he collaborated with renowned Production House Records artists such as DMS, The House Crew, and X-Static. Persistently dedicated, DJ Psycho was inspired by the edgy music subcultures of London in the 90s and early 2000s, shaping his unique sound characterized by dark and gritty tones, heavy bass, lively beats, and funky rhythms.

His unique style quickly led to him securing regular time slots on prominent pirate radio stations in London, such as AXE FM and Fantasy FM, as well as performing at popular venues in the city like Scala, Bagley’s Film Studios, 491 Gallery, 291 Gallery, and 333. In Vietnam, he has also showcased his DJ skills at various locations including Piu Piu, Basement, Indika, Cargo Remote, The Villa Project, Lela, Piu Piu, Pogo Beach Club, Dragon Beach, The Lab, and many more.

DJ Psycho embodies the belief that music is his sanctuary and his life. He has travelled the globe with his diverse mix of grooves, loops, riffs, and beats, performing in various countries such as the UK, West Indies, Australia, Singapore, and Vietnam. Infusing the dancefloor with an unparalleled, authentic energy, DJ Psycho caters to those seeking a sophisticated musical experience, consistently igniting the party atmosphere.

Currently residing discreetly in vibrant Saigon, Vietnam, DJ Psycho established Scientific Sound Asia in 2013, a DJ agency, promotions, and event management company that introduces international DJs and performers to the Southeast Asian region. The agency also operates an underground radio station featuring eclectic electronic music and showcasing talented international groove artists. When not behind the turntables, DJ Psycho-UK is known as Tariq Azam.

His show features a fresh selection of current promos and some older favourites from selected labels including the sub-genres Funky House, Melodic House, Disco House, Nu Disco, Tech House, House, and more.
