Terence C, a guest DJ from Bicycle Corporation, will be presenting his upcoming show, Electronic Roots, on Scientific Sound Asia. As Asia’s leading electronic dance music station, promoter, and DJ agency, Scientific Sound Asia reaches both local and global audiences.
Bicycle Corporation is a collaboration between Italian DJ and producer Marco Mei and talented producer Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. Together, they have produced and remixed over 50 original tracks in House and Techno, making a lasting impact on the electronic music scene.
Marco began his journey as a DJ in the early 90s, inspired by the rise of Electronic music and Afro-centric rhythms. Once in the industry, he founded Urban People, hosting House and Techno events across Italy. From there, Marco deepened his exploration of sound and event planning, eventually earning a residency at Pacha in Egypt.
This significant role boosted his reputation, unlocking international DJ opportunities that launched him into a global career. His experiences at Pacha sparked his ambition to share his talents with audiences worldwide.
Stefano, originally from Torino, Italy, showed exceptional musical promise early on. Guided by his parents into music, he devoted himself to classical piano, percussion, and drums, inspired by a range of music from Chopin to West African rhythms. This broad background has shaped his influence on electronic music.
Stefano’s early exposure to diverse genres helped him develop a deep musical foundation. His fascination with electronic music began during the 90s when it was rarely broadcast on Italian radio, yet its rhythms and melodies captivated him.
Despite their success, Marco and Stefano remain grounded. They have revisited some of their early works, showcasing their dedication to their musical origins. Recently, they created a Bandcamp page to share their works, underscoring their commitment to preserving their artistic heritage.
Electronic Roots, hosted by Marco and Stefano, is a radio show centred on House and Techno, offering a platform to feature distinguished artists from across Asia. This initiative celebrates the diversity within the Asian electronic music community and fosters international connections and collaborations.
