Terence C, a guest DJ representing Bicycle Corporation, is poised to present his upcoming show, Electronic Roots 125, on Scientific Sound Asia. As Asia's leading electronic dance music station, promoter, and DJ agency, Scientific Sound Asia engages with both local and international audiences.
Bicycle Corporation is a collaboration between Italian DJ and producer Marco Mei and accomplished producer Stefano Ugliano, known by his alias 6884. Together, they have produced and remixed over 50 original tracks within the House and Techno genres, making a significant impact on the electronic music landscape.
Marco began his DJ career in the early 1990s, motivated by the rise of electronic music and Afro-centric rhythms. Upon entering the industry, he founded Urban People, which organised House and Techno events across Italy. This venture led Marco to explore sound further and develop event organisation skills, culminating in a residency at Pacha in Egypt.
This critical position bolstered his reputation, opening doors to international DJ opportunities that launched his global career. His experiences at Pacha fuelled his desire to share his talents with audiences worldwide.
Stefano, originating from Torino, Italy, exhibited exceptional musical ability from an early age. Urged by his parents to pursue music, he devoted himself to classical piano, percussion, and drums, finding inspiration in a variety of musical styles, including Chopin and West African rhythms. This extensive background has greatly influenced his contributions to electronic music.
Stefano's initial exposure to diverse music genres provided a robust foundation for his artistic journey. His interest in electronic music was ignited in the 1990s, during which time it was rarely played on Italian radio, yet its rhythms and melodies captivated him.
Despite their numerous accomplishments, Marco and Stefano remain modest. They have revisited some of their early works, reinforcing their commitment to their musical roots. Recently, they launched a Bandcamp page to disseminate their creations, underscoring their dedication to preserving their artistic legacy.
Hosted by Marco and Stefano, Electronic Roots is a radio show dedicated to House and Techno, offering a platform for distinguished artists from across Asia. This initiative celebrates the richness of the Asian electronic music scene while fostering global connections and collaborations.
