Bicycle Corporation has announced its playlist for their 'Roots' episode 152. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music station, promoter, and DJ agency serving the region and globally.
Bicycle Corporation is an Italian pairing of the DJ and producer Marco Mei and the talented Stefano Ugliano who also goes by the moniker 6884. At the beginning of the nineties, Marco was starting out with his musical journey as a disc jockey and producer.
He started organizing his own events under the name Urban People throughout Italy. This led to him gaining recognition, and eventually, he was invited to be a resident DJ at Pacha, Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt.
Once he showcased his skills at Pacha and gained increased recognition, he began receiving DJ bookings at various venues worldwide. This propelled him into a musical adventure around the world, where he performed alongside well-known figures in the electronic music scene.
Stefano, who comes from Torino, Italy, displayed potential as a young musician from an early age. He demonstrated a strong passion for music that gradually took over much of his free time. Stefano delved into studying classical piano, percussion, and drums, and he particularly admired Chopin and West African Djembe.
As he matured, the DJ captivating the audience with electronic beats became increasingly fascinating to young Stefano. His love for electronic music, which was scarce on Italian radio stations in the 1990s, consumed him and propelled the development of his production skills. Subsequently, he crossed paths with Marco, giving rise to the formation of Bicycle Corporation.
Just recently, their earlier tracks have gone out of contract with the original labels so they have set up a Bandcamp page to distribute them. This show is a mesmerising blend of afrobeat, afro disco, disco-funk, rare-groove, and electronica, enjoy the show.
