Bicycle Corporation has revealed the playlist for episode 191 of their renowned 'Roots' series. Concurrently, Scientific Sound Asia remains a leading electronic music station and DJ agency, dedicated to serving listeners across Asia and beyond with unmatched commitment.
Bicycle Corporation, the dynamic Italian duo of DJ and producer talents Marco Mei and Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884, boasts an extensive music industry tenure. They have produced an impressive catalogue of over 50 tracks, spanning genres such as French House, Deep House, Tech House, and Techno.
Marco began his career in the early nineties, organizing House Music and Techno events with a group known as 'Urban People.' Over time, his impact on the music scene grew, making him a prominent and sought-after personality throughout Italy.
Marco's renown has grown well beyond his native country, as evidenced by his international bookings. These engagements across the world mark a significant broadening of his career, taking it past the boundaries of Italy.
Hailing from Turin, Italy, Stefano exhibited musical prowess early in his childhood. He harbored a fervent passion for the musical arts, often spending his free time immersed in it. His academic path took him through the study of classical piano, percussion, and drums, cultivating a particular fondness for Chopin's compositions and the West African Djembe's rhythms.
During his exploration of various musical genres, Stefano discovered a passion that captivated his heart uniquely: the art of DJing. As a teenager, he was profoundly attracted to the DJs' mastery in manipulating turntables. The beats he discovered in this domain were seldom played on Italian radio stations at the time, further enhancing the mystique of DJing as an art form.
For most, the notion of crafting and delivering such sounds to large audiences might seem like an elusive dream. Yet, Stefano faced the challenges head-on. With persistent hard work, steadfast commitment, and intense perseverance, Stefano and Marco launched Bicycle Corporation into the realm of electronic music, establishing their niche within the industry.
Despite achieving worldwide fame, Marco and Stefano have stayed true to their beginnings as teenagers experimenting with electronic music. They have recently revisited some of their initial tracks, contemplating their musical journey. Additionally, they have established a Bandcamp page to share these tracks, demonstrating their growth and steadfast dedication to their musical origins.
The weekly radio show "Roots" is a celebration of an eclectic blend of music, featuring Funk, Disco, Afrobeat, Rare Groove, Soul, and Brazilian genres. Marco and Stefano, with a special focus on artists who incorporate Afrocentric musical styles, have created a dynamic platform that honours a variety of musical heritages.
Their commitment to broadcasting weekly is a testament to their dedication to promoting the intricate array of sounds that are deeply embedded in Afrocentric musical traditions. This week's radio show presents an eclectic mix of Afrobeat, Afro House, Afro Disco, Disco, Funk, Jazz Fusion, and Brazilian music.
