Bicycle Corporation has revealed the lineup for the 200th episode of their renowned Roots show. Scientific Sound Asia continues to be a top electronic music station, event organizer, and DJ agency, committed to captivating audiences in Asia and beyond.
For more than ten years, Bicycle Corporation, consisting of Italian DJ and producer Marco Mei and Stefano Ugliano (also known as 6884), has been a significant presence in the music industry. Their vast music collection covers a range of genres, including French House, Deep House, Tech House, and Techno, highlighting their versatility and skill in electronic music.
Marco began organizing House and Techno events in the early 1990s with 'Urban People.' His influence steadily increased, making him a prominent figure in Italy's music scene. With international engagements, his reputation has expanded to a worldwide audience.
Originating from Turin, Italy, Stefano showed a strong interest in music early in life. This passion drove him to delve into classical piano, percussion, and drums, focusing especially on Chopin and the West African Djembe. His interest in DJing grew as he admired the art of turntable manipulation, enhancing his commitment to the craft.
Stefano and Marco have continually overcome the challenges of performing in front of large crowds, establishing a unique position in the electronic music industry. Their recent look back at their early tracks and the launch of a Bandcamp page underscore their dedication to musical development.
Hosted by Marco and Stefano, the "Roots" weekly radio show showcases a wide variety of music genres such as Funk, Disco, Afrobeat, Rare Groove, Soul, and Brazilian music. Roots Episode 200 by Bicycle Corporation offers a lively exploration of Funk, Soul, Disco, Electro Disco, Brazilian Disco, Afro Funk, and House rhythms, combining soulful grooves with dynamic beats.
The episode kicks off with the soulful grooves of Maceo Parker’s "Pass The Peas," followed by the lively Brazilian vibes of Jorge Ben’s "Jorge’s Pipa." Disco comes to the forefront with tracks like Decius’ "Dearly Be Lovers" and Loftsoul’s "Bump & Hustle," while Funk classics like James Brown’s "Body Heat" keep the energy high.
The mix then shifts to upbeat Disco edits with Soundstream’s "Give Me A C" and the infectious "Was Dog A Doughnut" by Jellybean. As the set progresses, you’ll groove to funky rhythms from Eddie C’s "Loud Minority" and the Afro-Funk vibes of Joaquin Joe Claussell’s "Lose It." The episode concludes with the smooth electro Disco of Ted Empleton’s "Fly Robbin’," leaving listeners in the perfect mood.
