Bicycle Corporation has revealed that DJ Jasmine Li will be the guest for episode 59 of their 'Foundations' series. Scientific Sound Asia is an electronic music station, promoter, and DJ agency based in Asia, broadcasting both regionally and internationally.

Bicycle Corporation is a duo from Italy consisting of the DJ and Producer Marco Mei and the skilled Stefano Ugliano who performs under the name 6884. At present, the Italian pair has put out more than 50 tracks and remixes spanning various genres such as Deep House, Tech House, French House, Melodic, and Techno.

During the early nineties, Marco embarked on his musical career as a DJ and producer, performing at events locally. Eventually, he progressed to organizing his own events with his group 'Urban People' throughout Italy.

Having achieved success in his native country, he secured a residency at the renowned nightclub chain Pacha. He later moved to Africa to start his residency in South Sinai, Egypt, specifically in Sharm el Sheikh. His successes continued as he started getting bookings for events around the globe.

Stefano was born and raised in Torino, Italy, where he showed great musical talent from a young age. He enthusiastically studied classical piano, percussion, and drums, with a particular fondness for Chopin and West African Djembe.

Nevertheless, the image of the DJ captivating the audience became increasingly fascinating to young Stefano. He pondered whether those electronic beats, which were scarce on Italian radio stations in the '90s, could lead to a whole new phase in his life, and thus Bicycle Corporation was born.

Even though Marco and Stefan are widely recognized worldwide, they have not lost touch with their origins as teenagers exploring electronic music for the first time. Lately, they have revisited some of their early tracks and established a Bandcamp page to share them.

The Foundations show features prominent electronic music artists from Asia, showcasing a diverse range of genres including Melodic Techno, Melodic House, Arabica House, Tech House, Organic House, Afro House, Techno, and House.

The guest DJ for this week is Jasmine Li. Jasmine Li, originally from Guangzhou, is a DJ, producer, and acoustic musician currently based in Valencia, Spain. She has been a prominent figure in the electronic music industry in China for more than two decades, with a 15-year stint in Shanghai.

With a background in professional Chinese classical and operatic music, her foundation in the performing arts is unquestionable. Her prominence in the national scene in these genres provided her with an advantage as she delved into electronic music and started making huse music songs.

Embracing her new passion, Jasmine became the co-founder and charismatic owner of Shanghai's notorious underground club Celia, known for its vibrant atmosphere featuring deep house and dark techno music.

By adding this to her two previous club ventures, Shiva Lounge and Downtown, she has undeniably made a lasting impact on Shanghai's music scene. Jasmine frequently tours Asia and Europe, performing at renowned events such as Great Wall Festival, A Summer Story, Elrow, and Amsterdam Dance Event, among many others.

When Jasmine is not DJ'ing or performing live, she spends her time in her underground studio in Shanghai creating music under her Silverlining project. In this project, she blends traditional Chinese sounds from instruments like the Pipa and Guzhen with electronic music.

Having nearly 20 years of global performance experience under her belt, Jasmine Li has shared the stage with numerous international DJs such as Sasha, Darren Emerson, Deadmau5, Mark Knight, Armin Van Buuren, Adana Twins, and many others. Her upcoming show will showcase Afro House, Melodic Techno, and Organic House. Tune in to catch her on Scientific Sound radio at the scheduled times below.
