Scientific Sound Asia welcomes Blaze DJ for his next guest show 'Ministry of Breaks' 10 on our radio station. Scientific Sound Asia is the Asian DJ agency, promoter, and electronic dance music genre radio station for the region with an international following.

Blaze DJ hails from Walthamstow in the East End of London, U.K., and is a British DJ and producer deeply rooted in underground music culture and DJing throughout his entire career and background.

The rule of 10,000 hours suggests that around 10,000 hours of practice are needed to achieve expertise and mastery in a particular field. Nevertheless, Blaze DJ considered 10,000 hours as just a basic training period.

Having spent countless hours honing his craft, the DJ from London has cultivated an almost telepathic bond with the turntables, the music he spins, and his audience. Growing up in a home filled with a diverse range of musical genres, Blaze DJ credits his parents and siblings as his primary inspirations.

His musical preferences were shaped by a mix of jazz, funk, disco, New Romantics, and 80’s synth-pop. However, it wasn't until he came across the cassette House Sounds of Chicago Volume 1 in 1987, during his school days, that Blaze DJ found the sound that resonated with him. Ever since that moment, music has not only been a passion for Blaze DJ, impacting not just his nightlife but also his professional journey and every facet of his existence.

Blaze DJ started his DJing career at the young age of 15 and swiftly gained popularity among listeners. He went from performing at a local pub in Edmonton to securing residencies in Birmingham and Faliraki, playing for crowds of up to 2,000 people. With a wide range of DJing experiences under his belt, Blaze DJ is considered a true representative of the Acid House era. He feels fortunate to have witnessed the evolution of the UK's electronic music scene from its inception to the current era.

Even now, thirty years later, he continues to bring the same level of enthusiasm and energy to his sets as he did during the epic parties of the early 1990s. For Blaze DJ, house music has always been the core focus.

Having been inspired by numerous artists spanning from the early days to the present, he skillfully incorporates all of his influences into his distinctive sound. Picture a blend of classic house with a dash of breaks, a pinch of acid, and a touch of techno, and you'll begin to grasp the essence of Blaze DJ's style.

Blaze DJ's impact extended beyond his performances as a DJ. After gaining experience in DJ shops, he became the first retailer in the country to integrate DJing and production equipment in one place, leading to a significant transformation in retail for the electronic music scene. By 2005, Blaze DJ appeared to have lost his passion for performing. Despite continuing his involvement in the music industry as an audio-visual designer and consultant, enhancing sound systems in renowned clubs worldwide, he ultimately decided to retire from his DJing career.

Nevertheless, following a fifteen-year break, Blaze DJ reignited his passion and returned to the industry with renewed zeal and a determination to excel once again. He wasted no time and quickly made an impact, managing to secure three monthly radio slots with Ibiza Club News, Underground Kollektiv, and Scientific Sound Asia, despite the challenges of the past year.

With a complete collection of unreleased music and currently signed with Industrial Force and Zeta Records, he is prepared to make a strong comeback in the club scene. Blaze is actively involved in co-hosting Sonic Alchemy events in Islington, North London, as well as organizing his own Ministry of Breaks events in East London.
