Blaze DJ is welcomed by Scientific Sound Asia for his upcoming guest show 'Ministry of Breaks' 14 on our radio station. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic dance music genre radio station, DJ agency, and promoter in the region, catering to an international audience.

Blaze DJ hails from Walthamstow in the East End of London, U.K., and is recognized as a British DJ and producer. Throughout his career, he has been closely connected with underground music culture and the art of DJing.

The 10,000-hour rule proposes that approximately 10,000 hours of practice are required to attain expertise and mastery in a specific field. However, for Blaze DJ, 10,000 hours marked just the start of his journey.

The DJ from London has devoted so many hours to his craft that he has developed an almost telepathic connection with the turntables, the music he plays, and his audience. Raised in a family immersed in a wide variety of musical styles and genres, Blaze DJ attributes his initial and most profound influences to his parents and siblings.

His musical tastes were shaped by a blend of jazz, funk, disco, New Romantics, and 80s synth-pop. However, it wasn't until 1987, while still a schoolboy, that he found his signature sound after listening to the cassette House Sounds of Chicago Volume 1. Since that moment, music has become a passion for him, impacting not only his nights out but also his entire career and every aspect of his life.

Blaze DJ began his DJing career at the tender age of 15 and quickly gained popularity as a sought-after DJ. He started off in a small pub in Edmonton and later secured residencies in Birmingham and Faliraki, entertaining crowds of up to 2,000 people.

With a diverse range of DJing experiences under his belt, Blaze DJ is regarded as a true representative of the Acid House era. He feels fortunate to have witnessed the evolution of the electronic music scene in the UK from its inception to the present era.

Even after thirty years, he still brings the same level of enthusiasm and energy to his sets today as he did during the legendary parties of the early 1990s. For Blaze DJ, house music has always been the focal point.

Influenced by a variety of artists spanning from the past to the present, he has successfully woven all his inspiration and influences into the fabric of his distinctive sound. Envision classic house music with a touch of breaks, a hint of acid, and a touch of techno to capture the essence of Blaze DJ's style.

Blaze DJ made a significant impact not only as a DJ but also as a trailblazer in retail. By integrating DJing and production equipment in one store, he transformed the shopping experience for the electronic music community. Despite continuing to work as an audio-visual designer and consultant, enhancing sound systems in renowned clubs worldwide, Blaze DJ decided to retire from his DJing career in 2005 after losing interest in performing.

However, following a fifteen-year hiatus, Blaze DJ reignited his passion and enthusiasm, eager to return to the scene and deliver top-notch performances once again.

He wasted no time and quickly secured three monthly radio slots with Ibiza Club News, Underground Kollektiv, and Scientific Sound Asia, despite the challenges of the past year.

Now armed with an extensive collection of unreleased tracks and currently dropping beats under Industrial Force and Zeta Records, he is prepared to make a strong comeback in the club scene. As one of the most dedicated DJs in the international breaks scene, he has been honing his craft for more than three decades.

Over the past two years, the Ministry of Breaks concept has been steadily gaining momentum and is becoming known for its distinctive mix of breaks, bass, and bleeps. The brand is set to release new music for the upcoming summer season.

Following the successful first MOB all-dayer event, Blaze is currently performing in Portugal and organizing a fresh monthly club night in central London. Additionally, he is set to release new music on ONE7AUDIO soon. This episode was initially broadcast on Friday, 24th June, and you can listen to the recording via the Mixcloud player provided below.
