DJ Joshua, hailing from Évora, Portugal, is a passionate aficionado of electronic music. His extensive collection, which includes digital tracks, vinyl records, CDs, and cassettes, reflects his deep commitment to the genre. In his formative years, he devoted countless hours to honing his DJ skills and carefully curated selections from diverse styles like Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout.


During the 1990s, Portugal experienced considerable resistance to rave music, culminating in its prohibition from radio broadcasts. Nevertheless, DJ Joshua remained steadfast in his dedication to electronic music.


DJ Joshua took on the challenge of organizing House and Techno music events at various clubs and bars. Working closely with his team, he brought his artistic vision to life. His impact reached beyond the local scene, attracting audiences from different cities.


DJ Joshua chose to pause his event organizing and radio work following the birth of his first child. He shifted his focus to dedicate himself entirely to his new role as a parent.


Witnessing his daughter's development, DJ Joshua experienced a resurgence of passion for music. This burst of inspiration led him to launch a new creative endeavour: the Floating Beats podcast and radio show.


Since its inception, the program has attracted a dedicated audience, eagerly awaiting Joshua's meticulously curated playlist. Floating Beats, accessible on several esteemed online platforms, has become a nexus for enthusiasts of electronic music.


DJ Joshua, fueled by his profound passion for House music, founded a new show called "Velvety Elements" to honour its vibrant emotional core. His podcasts, acclaimed for their intricate dissection of the genre's nuances, have secured him appearances on numerous global House and Techno radio stations, as well as our local station.


DJ Joshua views music as more than just an auditory experience; he regards it as a powerful artistic expression that melds diverse elements to stir deep emotions and physical responses. To him, music serves as a spiritual refuge, enchanting our senses with its subtle harmonies and providing a transformative journey for those who yield to its charm.

He expanded his horizons into production by establishing JFLM Recordings in January 2024 to share his music. His works are characterized by deep soulfulness, steadfast commitment, and an intense love for electronic music.


Joshua has earned a remarkable reputation through his weekly radio shows, adeptly blending House Music with various Techno sub-genres. His broadcasts showcase an extensive array of musical styles such as Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Soulful House, Progressive House, Techno, Vocal House, and Melodic Techno.
