DJ Joshua, from Évora, Portugal, is known for his deep love of electronic music, which spans multiple formats, digital, vinyl, CDs, and tape. His journey began in his teenage years as he collected a wide range of genres, including Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout. He spent countless hours refining his skills as a DJ and curating his extensive music library.
In the 90s, rave music faced resistance in Portugal, but DJ Joshua's perseverance helped him secure residencies on local radio stations, bringing electronic music to the masses. Over time, he gained a strong reputation in clubs and bars, becoming a prominent figure in the scene. After taking a break to embrace fatherhood, Joshua returned to his roots, launching the Floating Beats podcast and radio series, which gained a loyal following online.
Inspired to explore the deeper, soulful side of House music, Joshua added Velvety Elements to his offerings. Both shows are now broadcast globally on Scientific Sound Asia, an electronic music radio station and DJ agency with a worldwide audience.
Joshua’s shows feature a blend of House and Techno, highlighting sub-genres like Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Soulful House, and Progressive House. He regularly showcases tracks from popular artists such as Denney, Chaos In The CBD, Josh Wink, Green Velvet, and Brame & Hamo.
Joshua views music as an art form that transcends boundaries, saying, "Music is an art form. The fusion of elements can convey emotions and make the body move. This is a place where you hear sounds that can float and end up falling onto your body. Enjoy it."
