Scientific Sound Asia has unveiled the newest playlists for DJ Joshua's radio programs, Floating Beats and Velvety Elements. As a prominent figure in the Asian electronic music scene, Scientific Sound Asia operates as a radio station, promoter, and DJ agency, playing a crucial role in shaping the electronic music community in Asia.

Originating from Évora, Portugal, DJ Joshua has been instrumental in the electronic music scene for numerous years. His extensive collection of digital files, vinyl records, CDs, and cassettes highlights his enduring commitment to the genre.

DJ Joshua has excelled in numerous genres throughout his career, such as Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout. Despite the challenges faced by the rave scene in Portugal during the 1990s, Joshua stayed committed to electronic music.

Facing societal challenges and criticism, he developed creative approaches to create and share his music. By regularly partnering with other artists, he organized events in clubs and bars, turning them into key centres for House and Techno enthusiasts, thus broadening his impact far beyond his local region.

After his child was born, DJ Joshua scaled back his participation in events and radio to prioritize his family. However, as his daughter grew older, his passion for music was rekindled, prompting him to start the Floating Beats podcast and radio show. This show is renowned for its diverse collection of electronic music, showcasing Joshua's exceptional mixing abilities, thoughtful track selections, and an emotional exploration of various genres.

DJ Joshua views music as a spiritual sanctuary that transports listeners on an auditory voyage beyond conventional artistic limits. In January 2024, he broadened his artistic influence by establishing JFLM Recordings, a record label committed to featuring his compositions and bolstering his production endeavours.

In the first hour of Floating Beats 671, DJ Joshua takes listeners on a mesmerising journey through a mix of captivating rhythms and melodic sounds. From the enchanting remix of Pablo Bolivar's "The Other Vision" by Mollono Bass to the progressive mastery of Leon Raes' "Aruba Garden" (Eelke Kleijn Space Mix), this set seamlessly bridges genres. Notable highlights include Solomun's "After Rain Comes Sun" and the driving techno energy of Tom Hades' "Equialoco" (Brian Sanhaji Mix), rounding out a dynamic first hour.

The second hour, Velvety Elements 243, shifts the tone to a refined blend of Tech House and Deep House. Tracks like Nikola Gala's "The Pump" and Matthew Bandy's "Far Away" (Brothers Vibe Drum Mix) bring a vibrant groove, while remixes such as Nicolas Masseyeff's "No More Time" (Oxia Remix) and Manik's "Yeah" (Wiretappeurs Tappeurior Remix) add depth and texture. The hour concludes with the atmospheric touches of Brett Johnson's "Sunny Dispositions" (Dub Mix), leaving listeners with a lasting impression of musical elegance.

This dual-hour episode offers a compelling fusion of classic and contemporary elements, making it an unmissable experience for fans of electronic music. Let DJ Joshua guide you through an expertly curated House Music and Techno journey!
