Scientific Sound Asia has released the latest playlist for DJ Joshua's radio show, Floating Beats 676. As a leading entity in the Asian electronic music industry, Scientific Sound Asia functions as a radio station, promoter, and DJ agency, significantly influencing the electronic music community in Asia.

Hailing from Évora, Portugal, DJ Joshua has been a pivotal figure in the electronic music scene for many years. His vast collection of digital files, vinyl records, CDs, and cassettes underscores his lasting dedication to the genre.

Throughout his career, DJ Joshua has mastered various genres, including Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout. Despite the difficulties encountered by the rave scene in Portugal during the 1990s, Joshua remained dedicated to electronic music.

Confronted with societal challenges and criticism, he devised creative methods to produce and distribute his music. By frequently collaborating with other artists, he hosted events in clubs and bars, transforming them into key meeting places for House and Techno fans, thereby expanding his impact well beyond his local area.

Following the birth of his child, DJ Joshua reduced his involvement in events and radio to focus on his family. Nevertheless, as his daughter got older, his enthusiasm for music was reignited, leading him to launch the Floating Beats podcast and radio show. This show is celebrated for its wide-ranging electronic music collection, highlighting Joshua's outstanding mixing skills, careful track choices, and emotional journey through different genres.

DJ Joshua perceives music as a spiritual refuge, leading audiences on a sonic journey that surpasses traditional artistic boundaries. In January 2024, he expanded his artistic reach by founding JFLM Recordings, a record label designed to showcase his works and support his production efforts.

DJ Joshua sets the tone for Floating Beats 676 with a carefully curated selection of Deep House, Techno, and Melodic House & Techno. The journey begins with the smooth textures of Digitaline’s “Wanna” (John Tejada Remix) and Chymera’s “Swim Away” (Steve Moore Remix), before transitioning into the hypnotic beats of Stelios Vassiloudis’ “No Sleep” and Robert Babicz’s “Red Valve.” The deep, rolling grooves offer a perfect balance between melody and rhythm, keeping listeners engaged from start to finish.

As the mix progresses, Fur Coat’s “Transcendental” and Falko Brocksieper’s “Reverse Engineering” introduce a more driving energy, building up to the peak-time sounds of Frank Müller’s “Schönbrunn” (Kirk Degiorgio Remix) and Marst’s “Nanga.” The combination of deep, melodic, and driving elements creates an immersive listening experience, capturing the essence of underground electronic music.

This episode of Floating Beats is a must-listen for fans of deep and hypnotic electronic sounds, seamlessly blending atmospheric melodies with powerful rhythms. Tune in and let DJ Joshua take you on a sonic adventure through his signature sound.
