DJ Joshua has published the track list for his new 'Floating Beats' and 'Velvety Elements' show this Monday 4th of May 2020 from 6 to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT) and repeating on Friday from 6 to 8 AM (ICT). DJ Joshua, known by his real name Joshua Mar, is an impassioned music aficionado and collector residing in the enchanting city of Évora, Portugal. His extensive collection reflects his eccentric personality, particularly highlighting his profound love for electronic music a genre that ignited his curiosity across a myriad of styles, from House and Drum and Bass to Chillout and Techno, where he is firmly at the forefront.
His well-established weekly show, Floating Beats, has provided him with a creative platform to explore soothing progressive sounds alongside melodic and techno influences. Now, DJ Joshua is thrilled to announce the introduction of a second hour to this musical journey: Velvety Elements. This new segment will be exclusively devoted to the softer side of House music, enriched with intricately layered elements designed to deliver a velvety listening experience that captivates the senses.
Beginning his career as a disc jockey in the early nineties, Joshua’s passion for mixing was further fuelled by his burgeoning vinyl collection. He launched his journey on local radio platforms, showcasing an eclectic mix of electronic genres.
His early performances at House and Techno events, often organised with friends, coincided with the meteoric rise of the rave scene in Portugal. Recognising the power of radio to engage and inspire his audience, he embraced this medium wholeheartedly.
Driven by immense intensity and an unquenchable passion for music, Joshua took a brief hiatus from the scene following the birth of his daughter. However, after a few fulfilling years of fatherhood, he reignited his fervent love for music by founding a new radio show that would eventually evolve into Floating Beats Sessions.
Reflecting on his craft, Joshua articulates, "Music is an art form. It is a fusion of elements that convey emotions and compel the body to move. This is a space where sounds can float and ultimately resonate within you, enjoy the journey."
In his weekly offerings, Joshua crafts an engaging mix that showcases a vast array of House and Techno genres, including Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit House, Soulful House, Progressive House, Vocal House, Melodic Techno, and, of course, Techno. His expertly produced podcasts have garnered international acclaim and are broadcast across numerous House and Techno radio stations worldwide.
