DJ Joshua, originating from Évora, Portugal, has played a pivotal role in the electronic music scene since the mid-1990s. His vast collection of digital files, vinyl records, CDs, and cassettes highlights his ongoing commitment to the genre.
During his career, he has become proficient in multiple styles such as Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout. Even with the difficulties encountered by the rave scene in Portugal in the 1990s, Joshua stayed dedicated to electronic music.
He developed innovative ways to create and share his work, frequently partnering with other artists to organize events in clubs and bars. These venues emerged as crucial gathering spots for House and Techno fans, broadening his impact beyond his local community.
Following the birth of his child, Joshua decreased his participation in events and radio to prioritize his family. As his daughter got older, his enthusiasm for music was rekindled, resulting in the creation of the Floating Beats podcast and radio show.
Renowned for its eclectic electronic music repertoire, the show showcases Joshua's outstanding mixing abilities, meticulous track choices, and emotional explorations across different genres. He perceives music as a spiritual sanctuary, leading listeners on auditory journeys that surpass conventional artistic limits.
In 2023, Joshua immersed himself further into music production, using various pseudonyms to examine different aspects of his creativity. As K-Joshua, Joshua Marian, Joshua Fernand, and Joshua Onairam, he has launched numerous tracks, each showcasing a distinct style and influence.
In January 2024, he established JFLM Recordings to bolster his production endeavours and serve as a platform for his varied creations. With this label, Joshua remains an active participant in the electronic music scene, providing audiences with a diverse array of sounds that highlight his adaptability and dedication to the craft.
