Scientific Sound Asia has revealed the newest playlist for DJ Joshua's radio show, Floating Beats 682. As a prominent figure in the Asian electronic music scene, Scientific Sound Asia operates as a radio station, promoter, and DJ agency, significantly contributing to the growth of the electronic music community across Asia.
DJ Joshua, hailing from Évora, Portugal, has been a prominent figure in the electronic music scene since the mid-1990s. His vast collection of digital files, vinyl records, CDs, and cassettes showcases his enduring dedication to the genre.
Throughout his career, he has excelled in various styles, including Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout. Despite the challenges faced by the rave scene in Portugal during the 1990s, Joshua remained committed to electronic music.
He developed creative methods for producing and distributing his work, frequently collaborating with other artists to organize events in clubs and bars. These venues became essential gathering places for House and Techno enthusiasts, extending his influence beyond his local area.
After the birth of his child, Joshua reduced his involvement in events and radio to focus on family life. As his daughter grew, his passion for music was reignited, leading to the creation of the Floating Beats podcast and radio show.
In 2023, Joshua delved deeper into music production, using several pseudonyms to explore different facets of his creativity. Under the names K-Joshua, Joshua Marian, Joshua Fernand, and Joshua Onairam, he has released numerous tracks, each showcasing a unique style and influence.
In January 2024, he founded JFLM Recordings to enhance his production efforts and provide a platform for his varied creations. Through this label, Joshua remains active in the electronic music scene, presenting audiences with a wide range of sounds that showcase his versatility and commitment to the art form.
Floating Beats 682 takes listeners on a deep and driving journey through underground sounds, blending Techno, Deep House, and hypnotic rhythms.
