Hailing from Évora, Portugal, DJ Joshua is a devoted fan of electronic music. His vast collection of music, comprising digital tracks, vinyl records, CDs, and cassettes, reflects his deep dedication to the genre.
From the start of his career, DJ Joshua has spent countless hours perfecting his DJ skills and curating a wide variety of music genres, including Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout. Despite the controversy surrounding rave music in Portugal in the 1990s, DJ Joshua remained devoted to his passion for the genre.
Even though he encountered societal limitations and disapproval, he continued to produce and distribute his music using untraditional methods and in secret locations. Working closely with his team, DJ Joshua organized House and Techno gatherings at various clubs and bars, attracting a fan following that extended beyond his local community.
Upon becoming a father for the first time, DJ Joshua scaled back his participation in event planning and radio hosting in order to focus on his duties as a parent. However, as his daughter grew older, he found renewed inspiration to pursue his love for music.
The revival resulted in the establishment of the Floating Beats podcast and radio show, a weekly broadcast showcasing a variety of electronic music genres. DJ Joshua is known for his dynamic performances that cover a wide range of styles and genres, attracting a devoted audience. His sets are distinguished by seamless transitions, exceptional song selections, and a deep understanding of the emotions and atmospheres specific to each genre.
Viewing music as more than just an art form, DJ Joshua considers it a spiritual sanctuary that captivates the senses and offers a deep experience to those who appreciate its beauty. In January 2024, DJ Joshua expanded his creative pursuits by venturing into music production and founding JFLM Recordings, a platform dedicated to showcasing his music.
During Floating Beats 658, DJ Joshua presented a captivating blend of Techno and Deep House music. The initial part of the show showcased Techno tunes by Luke Hess and Ian O’Donovan, setting an entrancing ambience. In the latter half, the Velvety Elements 230 program carried on with Deep House tracks from Lars Behrenroth, Tuccillo, and Darius Syrossian, guaranteeing a smooth and engaging listening journey from start to finish.
