DJ Joshua, from Évora, Portugal, is a passionate advocate of electronic music. His extensive music library spans digital tracks, vinyl records, CDs, and cassettes, showcasing his deep commitment to the genre.
From his early days, DJ Joshua spent countless hours refining his DJ skills and curating a diverse range of music styles, including Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout. During the 1990s, when rave music was both divisive and controversial in Portugal, DJ Joshua remained devoted to the genre.
Despite societal prohibitions and criticism, he persisted in producing and sharing his music through unconventional channels and clandestine locations. Collaborating closely with his team, DJ Joshua organized House and Techno events at various clubs and bars, bringing his creative visions to life and attracting an audience from beyond his local community.
After the birth of his first child, DJ Joshua scaled back his event planning and radio-hosting activities to focus on his role as a parent. However, as his daughter grew, he found renewed inspiration to return to his love of music.
This led to the creation of the Floating Beats podcast and radio show, a weekly program that showcases an eclectic mix of electronic music genres. The first hour, Floating Beats, features a diverse selection of tracks that offer a fresh and captivating experience for listeners.
In the second hour, Velvety Elements, DJ Joshua delves into the emotional depth of Deep House music, exploring its soulful and profound side. Each episode is meticulously crafted, ensuring a distinct and enriching musical journey.
Known for his energetic performances across various styles and genres, DJ Joshua has built a loyal fan base. His shows are characterized by seamless transitions, impeccable track selection, and a deep understanding of the emotions and energy each genre evokes.
For DJ Joshua, music is more than just art, it’s a spiritual sanctuary that engages the senses and provides a transformative experience for those who appreciate its allure. In January 2024, DJ Joshua expanded his creative horizons by venturing into music production and founding JFLM Recordings, a platform for publishing his music.
