DJ Joshua has unveiled the playlist for his two popular radio shows, Floating Beats and Velvety Elements, both of which are broadcast on Scientific Sound Asia. Situated in Asia, Scientific Sound Asia stands as a reputable DJ agency and electronic music station, drawing in a diverse global audience.
Hailing from Evora, Portugal, DJ Joshua has emerged as a passionate aficionado of electronic music, showcasing his devotion across various mediums including digital formats, vinyl records, CDs, and tapes. During his formative years, he devoted significant time and effort to refining his DJing skills, meticulously curating his collection of Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout tracks.
Throughout the 1990s, rave music encountered significant opposition in Portugal, resulting in its conspicuous absence from the airwaves. Despite these challenges, DJ Joshua remained undeterred, displaying remarkable patience and persistence in pursuing his passion for electronic music.
Eventually, DJ Joshua achieved a breakthrough by securing regular slots on local radio stations, providing him with a platform to share his passion for rave music with a broader audience. Through his unwavering determination and persistence, he gradually broke down barriers and effectively expanded the influence of electronic music genres in Portugal.
DJ Joshua assumed the role of coordinating House Music and Techno events at various clubs and bars, collaborating closely with his friends to bring his vision to life. His influence extended beyond the local scene, making waves in other regions as well. However, when he welcomed his first child into the world, he made the heartfelt decision to temporarily step away from event organizing and radio performances.
As his daughter grew older, DJ Joshua felt a renewed longing to rekindle his passion for music. This inner calling inspired him to conceive the Floating Beats podcast and radio series. Since its inception, the show has garnered a devoted following, with listeners eagerly tuning in to experience Joshua's curated selection of tracks via various renowned online platforms.
Fueled by a deep-seated passion for House music cultivated during his formative years, DJ Joshua was driven to create an additional program that would pay homage to its intricate soulfulness. Thus, he introduced a new show titled "Velvety Elements." In recent years, his podcasts have garnered acclaim and secured airtime on numerous international House Music and Techno radio stations, including our own.
DJ Joshua eloquently articulates his belief that music transcends mere sound, portraying it as a profound art form that seamlessly blends diverse elements to evoke emotions and ignite movement. For him, music serves as a sanctuary where individuals encounter melodies that drift gracefully and gently envelop the senses. His ultimate aim is to immerse listeners completely in the mood of the music.
Joshua consistently hosts weekly radio shows that offer a fusion of House Music and Techno sub-genres. His programs boast a diverse array of music genres, encompassing Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Soulful House, Progressive House, Techno, Vocal House, and Melodic Techno.
