Recently, DJ Joshua revealed the playlists for his radio programs, Floating Beats and Velvety Elements, broadcasted on Scientific Sound Asia. This renowned electronic music station, promoter, and DJ agency has a large global audience and plays a crucial part in the electronic music scene in Asia.

Coming from Évora, Portugal, DJ Joshua is a passionate enthusiast of electronic music. His extensive music library includes digital tracks, vinyl records, CDs, and cassettes, demonstrating his deep commitment to the genre. In his formative years, he dedicated countless hours honing his DJ skills and curating a wide range of music genres such as Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout.

In the 1990s, Portugal faced a cultural clash due to the emergence of rave music, which was perceived as a controversial and divisive genre. The energetic beats and groundbreaking sounds of rave music sparked significant opposition, ultimately resulting in its omission from radio airplay.

During the chaos, DJ Joshua emerged as a symbol of consistent commitment to electronic music. Despite facing prohibition and societal disapproval, DJ Joshua persisted in his love for the genre, persisting in producing and sharing his music through unconventional means and secret locations.

DJ Joshua assumed the role of organizing House and Techno music events at different clubs and bars, working closely with his team to bring his creative ideas to life. His impact reached beyond the local community, attracting audiences from various cities.

After his first child was born, DJ Joshua chose to reduce his participation in event planning and radio presenting. He shifted his focus to fully embrace his new role as a parent.

Seeing how well his daughter was doing motivated DJ Joshua to reignite his love for music. This fresh enthusiasm led him to start an exciting venture: the Floating Beats podcast and radio show.

Since the start, the program has attracted a dedicated audience eagerly awaiting Joshua's thoughtfully curated playlist. Floating Beats, accessible on various reputable online platforms, has become a central hub for fans of electronic music.

DJ Joshua, fueled by a profound passion for House music, introduced a fresh show called "Velvety Elements" to honour the genre's intricate emotional depth. His podcasts, well-known for delving deeply into the subtleties of House music, have secured him slots on several global House and Techno radio stations, including our own.

DJ Joshua perceives music not just as sound, but as a powerful form of art that blends different components to elicit deep emotions and physical responses. He regards music as a spiritual refuge that engages our senses with intricate harmonies, providing a life-changing encounter for those who recognize its charm.

With a commitment to involving his audience in the genuine spirit of the music, DJ Joshua strives to establish an ambience that mirrors its distinct qualities and foundation. Through his immense passion and steadfast commitment, he endeavours to design a cohesive musical experience that resonates profoundly with every individual.

Expanding his horizons in January 2024, he ventured into production with the establishment of JFLM Recordings to publish his music. His musical creations are recognized for their deep emotional impact, steadfast commitment, and intense love for electronic music.

Joshua has built a solid reputation through his weekly radio shows, skillfully blending different sub-genres of House Music and Techno. His broadcasts showcase a wide range of musical styles, such as Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Soulful House, Progressive House, Techno, Vocal House, and Melodic Techno.

Known for his energetic performances that cover various styles and genres, Joshua captivates a diverse audience.
