DJ Joshua has recently revealed the playlist for his regular radio shows, Floating Beats and Velvety Elements, which are aired on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia, an established DJ agency and electronic music station located in Asia, attracts a wide range of listeners from around the world.
Born in Evora, Portugal, DJ Joshua has established himself as a devoted lover of electronic music on different mediums such as digital formats, vinyl records, CDs, and tapes. Throughout his early years, he dedicated considerable time and energy to honing his DJing abilities and carefully selecting his collection of Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout tracks.
During the 1990s, the various genres of rave music encountered considerable opposition and were noticeably absent from the airwaves in Portugal. However, DJ Joshua refused to be discouraged and instead demonstrated great patience and persistence.
Eventually, he managed to secure regular slots on local radio stations, which allowed him to introduce his love for rave music to a wider audience. Through his unwavering determination, DJ Joshua slowly dismantled barriers and successfully expanded the influence of the electronic music genres in Portugal.
DJ Joshua took on the task of coordinating House Music and Techno events at different clubs and bars, working closely with his friends. His impact went beyond his local scene, reaching out to other regions as well. However, when his first child came into the picture, he decided to temporarily step away from organizing events and doing radio performances.
As his daughter grew older, DJ Joshua experienced a desire to reconnect with his passion. This led him to create the Floating Beats podcast and radio series. Since its inception, he has gained a loyal fan base and continues to pursue his original vision through different well-known online platforms.
Driven by a profound passion for House music, which evolved during his formative years, DJ Joshua felt compelled to establish an additional program that would honour its soulful complexities. As a result, he launched a fresh show called "Velvety Elements." Over the past few years, his podcasts have gained recognition and airtime on various international House Music and Techno radio stations, including our own.
DJ Joshua eloquently expresses that music is a form of art, skillfully combining various components to evoke feelings and inspire motion. It serves as a space where individuals encounter melodies that seem to float and delicately embrace the senses. Ultimately, his goal is for listeners to completely engage themselves in the mood of the music.
Joshua regularly hosts radio shows every week that showcase a blend of House Music and Techno sub-genres. His programs cover a wide variety of music genres, such as Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Soulful House, Progressive House, Techno, Vocal House, and Melodic Techno.
Listeners have the opportunity to tune in to DJ Joshua's live shows on Monday, February 19th, 2024, from 6 PM to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT).
