DJ Joshua has unveiled the playlists for his weekly shows, 'Floating Beats' and 'Velvety Elements'. Scientific Sound Asia serves as the Asian promoter, electronic dance music radio station, and DJ agency for the region, boasting a global audience.
Hailing from Evora, Portugal, DJ Joshua is a dedicated DJ and electronic music enthusiast. His passion for collecting electronic music, spanning vinyl and digital formats, defines his career. As a teenager, he immersed himself in a variety of genres including House, Drum and Bass, Chillout, and Techno, honing his skills in his bedroom DJ setup.
In the early nineties, the electronic music scene was largely absent from Portuguese radio. Through persistent negotiations with local stations, Joshua secured multiple residencies and began sharing his expansive collection of electronic beats with Portuguese fans.
His journey soon led him to organise events, bringing his love for electronic music to clubs and bars. After the birth of his daughter, he took a hiatus to focus on family life. As she grew, Joshua sought a new platform for his music passion, leading to the creation of his radio show Floating Beats. The show quickly garnered a significant following, with broadcasts reaching an international audience.
Building on his success, Joshua launched Velvety Elements to showcase the deep and soulful facets of House Music. Both 'Floating Beats' and 'Velvety Elements' are now featured on numerous online platforms and radio stations worldwide.
Joshua sums up his philosophy with: "Music is an art form. It is a fusion of elements that convey emotions and make the body move. This is a space where you can experience sounds that float and eventually resonate with you."
In his weekly broadcasts, Joshua explores a rich blend of House Music and Techno sub-genres, frequently including Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Soulful House, Progressive House, Vocal House, and Melodic Techno.
