DJ Joshua has recently unveiled new playlists for his acclaimed shows, 'Floating Beats' and 'Velvety Elements.' As a prominent figure in the Asian electronic music scene and a leading DJ agency, Scientific Sound Asia connects a global audience with the vibrant world of electronic music, including techno, house music, and techno events.

Originating from Evora, Portugal, DJ Joshua is celebrated for his extensive collection of electronic music. His passion is evident in his pursuit of a wide range of genres across multiple formats, including digital, vinyl, CD, and tape. His collection spans from deep house music to dub techno and beyond.

In his teenage years, Joshua immersed himself in various genres such as Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout, dedicating considerable time to perfecting his DJ skills and curating his extensive collection of electronic beats.

During the early nineties, when rave culture and techno faced significant resistance and were largely absent from Portuguese radio, Joshua's perseverance led him to secure residencies at local stations. He successfully introduced Detroit techno and other electronic styles to a wider audience.

He began organising events in clubs and bars, establishing a strong reputation in his hometown and beyond. However, after the birth of his daughter, Joshua took a hiatus from live performances and radio hosting.

As his daughter grew older, Joshua felt inspired to reconnect with his musical roots, leading to the creation of the 'Floating Beats' podcast and radio series. This show, which delves into various aspects of techno and house music, has gained a substantial following across major online platforms and our house music and techno radio station in Asia.

Not content with just one show, Joshua also launched 'Velvety Elements,' which focuses on the deeper, more soulful dimensions of House Music. Over the past two years, both shows have been broadcast internationally, including on Scientific Sound Asia’s station.

Joshua articulates his belief that "Music is an art form. It’s a fusion of elements that convey emotions and make the body move. It’s about sounds that can float and resonate with you."

Each week, Joshua explores a diverse array of electronic music sub-genres, including Detroit techno, dark techno, progressive house, deep house music, and techno house, showcasing his extensive range as a Portuguese DJ.

Listen to the shows live on Monday 26th of September 2022 from 6 PM to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT) and re-airing on Friday from 6 AM to 8 AM (ICT).
