DJ Joshua has unveiled the playlists for his latest 'Floating Beats' and 'Velvety Elements' shows. Scientific Sound Asia continues to be the leading Asian electronic music station and DJ agency with a global reach.
Originating from Evora, Portugal, DJ Joshua is renowned for his extensive collection of electronic beats. His passion lies in curating a diverse range of electronic music across various formats, including digital, vinyl, compact disc, and tape.
During his teenage years, Joshua focused on collecting genres such as Tech House, Deep House, Melodic Techno, and Chillout. He dedicated countless hours to perfecting his craft as a DJ and organising his vast collection.
In the early nineties, rave music faced significant resistance and was scarcely heard on Portuguese airwaves. Through perseverance, Joshua secured residencies on local stations, allowing him to share his passion for electronic dance music with a broader audience.
He started hosting events at clubs and bars, building a solid reputation in his hometown and beyond. After becoming a father, Joshua took a hiatus from DJing and radio performances.
As his daughter grew up, Joshua felt compelled to reconnect with his roots and launched the 'Floating Beats' podcast and radio series. His efforts have garnered a dedicated following, with his shows gaining recognition on several prominent online platforms.
Joshua's dedication to electronic music led to the creation of 'Velvety Elements,' a show celebrating the deeper, soulful aspects of House music. Both of his podcasts are broadcast internationally, including on our station over the past two years.
According to Joshua, "Music is an art form. It blends elements to convey emotions and move the body. Here, you'll hear sounds that can float and eventually resonate with you. Enjoy it."
Each week, Joshua explores a variety of House Music and Techno sub-genres, including Tech House, Deep House, Melodic Techno, Underground Techno, and Electronic Beats. His shows feature a dynamic mix of house music mixes, DJ sets, and electronic dance music from Portugal and beyond.
