DJ Joshua has released the playlists for his weekly 'Floating Beats' and 'Velvety Elements' shows. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music station, promoter, and DJ agency with a global audience.
Hailing from Evora, Portugal, DJ Joshua is renowned for his extensive collection of electronic music. His passion involves curating a diverse range of electronic beats across formats like digital, vinyl, compact disc, and tape.
In his teenage years, Joshua built a collection of Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout. He spent many hours perfecting his DJ craft and organising his vast collection.
During the early nineties, rave music faced resistance and was scarce on Portuguese airwaves. With perseverance, Joshua secured residencies on local stations, spreading his love for rave culture.
He began hosting events at clubs and bars with close friends, earning a strong reputation locally and beyond. After becoming a father, Joshua paused live events and radio performances.
As his daughter grew older, Joshua revived his passion by launching the Floating Beats podcast and radio series. Over the years, he has gained a substantial following and continues his vision on several prominent online platforms.
Joshua’s journey continued with the creation of Velvety Elements, a show dedicated to exploring the deeper and more soulful aspects of House music. Both podcasts have been broadcast internationally, including on our station, for the past two years.
Joshua views music as an art form, stating, "It’s the fusion of elements that convey emotions and make the body move. Experience sounds that float and resonate with you."
Each week, Joshua explores a blend of House Music and Techno sub-genres, including Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Soulful House, Progressive House, Vocal House, and Melodic Techno.
