DJ Joshua has unveiled the playlists for his latest episodes of 'Floating Beats' and 'Velvety Elements.' Scientific Sound Asia remains at the forefront of the Asian electronic music scene, serving as both a prominent DJ agency and a key player in the global electronic dance music scene.

Hailing from Evora, Portugal, DJ Joshua is celebrated for his extensive collection of electronic music. His passion for gathering diverse genres—including vinyl, digital, CD, and tape formats—reflects his deep commitment to the craft.

In his teenage years, Joshua immersed himself in collecting various electronic genres such as Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout. He dedicated countless hours to refining his skills as a DJ and meticulously organising his vast collection.

During the early 1990s, rave music faced significant resistance in Portugal, with its presence almost non-existent on local airwaves. Through perseverance and dedication, Joshua secured residencies on local stations, sharing his enthusiasm for rave music with a wider audience.

He made his mark by organising events at local clubs and bars, establishing a strong reputation in his hometown and beyond. After becoming a father, Joshua took a hiatus from events and radio performances.

As his daughter grew older, Joshua rekindled his passion for music, launching the Floating Beats podcast and radio series. His shows have gained a loyal following and continue to thrive on various online platforms.

Joshua's dedication to the art form extended to the creation of Velvety Elements, a show dedicated to exploring the deeper, soulful aspects of House music. Both podcasts have been broadcast internationally, including on our station over the past two years.

Joshua believes, “Music is an art form. The fusion of elements can convey emotions and make the body move. This is a place where you hear sounds that can float and end up falling onto your body—enjoy it.”

Each week, Joshua explores a range of electronic dance music genres, including Deep House, Techno, Progressive House, Melodic Techno, and more. His shows feature a rich blend of House Music and Techno sub-genres, catering to enthusiasts of both classic and contemporary electronic sounds.

Listen to the shows live on Monday 16th of January 2023 from 6 PM to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT) and re-airing on Friday from 6 AM to 8 AM (ICT).
