DJ Joshua, a prominent figure on the electronic music scene, originates from Évora, Portugal. With a passion for curating electronic music, he has dedicated his life to collecting genres across various formats—digital, vinyl, compact disc, and even tape. Known for his deep knowledge of House, Techno, Drum and Bass, and Chillout, Joshua’s experience as a DJ has been shaped by decades of exploration and dedication to the art form.

In the early 90s, rave music faced resistance on Portuguese airwaves, but Joshua’s perseverance paid off as he secured residencies on local radio stations. He played a pivotal role in bringing rave culture to the public, sharing his vast music collection with eager listeners. As he gained recognition in clubs and bars across the region, Joshua’s career as a DJ flourished. However, fatherhood prompted him to step away from the limelight for a period.

Years later, driven by a renewed desire to reconnect with music, Joshua launched his Floating Beats podcast and radio series. The show quickly gained traction across several online platforms, resonating with listeners who appreciated his skilful blend of House and Techno sub-genres. Building on this success, he introduced a new show, Velvety Elements, dedicated to the deeper, more soulful side of House music.

Both Floating Beats and Velvety Elements have been featured on Scientific Sound Asia, the region's premier electronic music station and DJ agency, boasting a global audience. For the past two years, Joshua's shows have captured the essence of House and Techno, offering an engaging mix of Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Progressive House, and more.

Joshua’s passion for music is evident in his words: “Music is an art form. The fusion of elements can convey emotions and make the body move. This is a place where you hear sounds that can float and end up falling onto your body, enjoy it.”

Catch DJ Joshua’s weekly Floating Beats and Velvety Elements shows, broadcasting live on Monday, April 17, 2023, from 6 PM to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT), with a re-airing on Friday from 6 AM to 8 AM (ICT). Dive into an immersive experience of House and Techno, led by a master of the craft.
