Scientific Sound Asia has unveiled the newest playlists for DJ Joshua's radio shows, Floating Beats and Velvety Elements. As a major force in the Asian electronic music scene, Scientific Sound Asia serves as a radio station, promoter, and DJ agency, playing a pivotal role in shaping the electronic music community in Asia.

Originating from Évora, Portugal, DJ Joshua has been a significant figure in the electronic music scene for numerous years. His extensive collection of digital files, vinyl records, CDs, and cassettes highlights his enduring commitment to the genre.

Throughout his career, DJ Joshua has mastered a variety of genres, including Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout. Even with the difficulties the rave scene encountered in Portugal during the 1990s, Joshua remained dedicated to electronic music.

Facing societal challenges and criticism, he developed creative ways to create and share his music. By regularly teaming up with other artists, he organized events in clubs and bars, turning them into essential centers for House and Techno enthusiasts, thus expanding his reach far beyond his local community.

After the birth of his child, DJ Joshua scaled back his participation in events and radio to prioritize his family. However, as his daughter grew older, his passion for music rekindled, prompting him to create the Floating Beats podcast and radio show. This program is renowned for its diverse electronic music selection, showcasing Joshua's flawless mixing, thoughtful track selections, and emotional exploration across various genres.

DJ Joshua perceives music as a spiritual refuge that takes listeners on a sonic journey beyond traditional artistic boundaries. In January 2024, he expanded his artistic impact by founding JFLM Recordings, a record label dedicated to showcasing his compositions and supporting his production efforts.

Floating Beats 669 showcases DJ Joshua’s masterful selection of tracks spanning Techno, House, and Melodic House & Techno. The first hour is an energetic dive into raw hypnotic beats and melodic layers, with standouts like Blue Hour’s “Trekia” and Fantastic Man’s “Jungle Juice”. A highlight is Joshua Onairam’s “Country Sunset”, adding a personal touch to the mix under his moniker.

In the second hour, Velvety Elements explores Deep House grooves, featuring gems like Freestyle Man’s “We Share (Deep Dub)” and Manuel Sahagun’s “Let It Go”. The smooth transitions between minimal and soulful house beats create an immersive atmosphere for listeners.

From raw techno to deep, melodic journeys, these episodes reflect DJ Joshua’s versatility and passion for electronic music, ensuring an unforgettable listening experience. Remember to tune in to his live radio show on Monday, December 16th, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m. Indochina Time (ICT).
