DJ Joshua has released the latest playlists for his weekly 'Floating Beats' and 'Velvety Elements' shows. Scientific Sound Asia, the leading Asian electronic music station, promoter, and DJ agency with a global reach, showcases Joshua’s eclectic mixes.
Hailing from Evora, Portugal, DJ Joshua is celebrated for his extensive collection of electronic music spanning digital, vinyl, compact disc, and tape. His passion for Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout began in his teenage years. He dedicated countless hours to perfecting his DJ skills and organising his extensive music library.
In the early nineties, despite facing resistance to rave music in Portugal, Joshua’s persistence led him to secure residencies at local stations, sharing his enthusiasm for rave music with a broader audience. His reputation grew through events at clubs and bars, although he took a hiatus from performing when he became a father.
As his daughter grew older, Joshua returned to his musical roots by launching the 'Floating Beats' podcast and radio series. This series, along with his 'Velvety Elements' show, has gained a loyal following and international recognition, including broadcasts on our station over the past two years.
Joshua’s belief in music as an art form is clear: “Music is an art form. The fusion of elements can convey emotions and make the body move. This is a place where you hear sounds that can float and end up falling onto your body, enjoy it.”
His shows feature a dynamic mix of House Music and Techno sub-genres, including Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Soulful House, Progressive House, Techno, Vocal House, and Melodic Techno.
