DJ Joshua has released the playlists for his weekly Floating Beats and Velvety Elements shows. Scientific Sound Asia, the leading electronic music station and DJ agency in Asia continues to showcase the finest talent in the region with a global audience.
Born and raised in Evora, Portugal, DJ Joshua earned a reputation as a devoted collector of electronic music. His passion spans multiple formats, including digital, vinyl, compact discs, and tape.
During his teenage years, Joshua accumulated an impressive collection of Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout. He dedicated countless hours to perfecting his DJ craft and curating his extensive music library.
In the early 1990s, rave music faced resistance and was absent from Portuguese airwaves. With persistence, Joshua secured residencies on local radio stations, spreading his love for the genre to the masses.
Joshua began organising House and Techno events at local clubs and bars, gaining recognition both in his hometown and beyond. He took a break from radio and events after the birth of his first child.
As his daughter grew, Joshua rekindled his passion for music by launching the Floating Beats podcast and radio series. Over the years, his fanbase has grown, and he continues to pursue his original vision across multiple digital platforms.
Not content with just one show, Joshua introduced Velvety Elements to explore the more soulful side of House music. His podcasts have aired on international House and Techno radio stations, including Scientific Sound Asia.
In his own words, "Music is an art form. The fusion of elements can convey emotions and make the body move. This is a place where you hear sounds that can float and end up falling onto your body. Enjoy it."
Joshua’s weekly shows explore a blend of House and Techno sub-genres, including Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Soulful House, Progressive House, Techno, Vocal House, and Melodic Techno.
Tune in to his live broadcasts on Monday, 18th December 2023, from 6 PM to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT), with a re-airing on Friday from 6 AM to 8 AM (ICT).
