DJ Joshua has released the playlists for his weekly 'Floating Beats' and 'Velvety Elements' shows. Scientific Sound Asia stands out as a leading electronic music radio station, promoter, and DJ agency in the region, enjoying a global audience.
Born and raised in Evora, Portugal, DJ Joshua is well-known for his extensive collection of electronic music across various formats, including digital, vinyl, compact disc, and tape. His dedication to collecting and curating genres such as Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout has earned him a reputation as a true electronic music enthusiast.
In the early nineties, despite facing resistance to rave music in Portugal, DJ Joshua managed to secure residencies on local stations and began sharing his passion with a wider audience. He also organised events at clubs and bars, gaining a strong reputation in his city and beyond.
Following the birth of his first child, DJ Joshua took a hiatus from public performances and radio. However, as his daughter grew, he returned to his roots by launching the Floating Beats podcast and radio series. This move helped him build a substantial following and continue his musical vision through various online platforms.
Not content to stop there, DJ Joshua later introduced the Velvety Elements show to explore the deeper, more soulful side of House music. His podcasts have been featured on international House and Techno radio stations, including our own.
In his own words, "Music is an art form. The fusion of elements can convey emotions and make the body move. This is a place where you hear sounds that can float and end up falling onto your body. Enjoy it."
In his weekly shows, Joshua explores a mix of House Music and Techno sub-genres, including Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Soulful House, Progressive House, Techno, Vocal House, and Melodic Techno.
