DJ Joshua has released the playlists for his weekly 'Floating Beats' and 'Velvety Elements' shows. Scientific Sound Asia is the Asian electronic music station and DJ agency for the region with a global following.
DJ Joshua, born and raised in Evora, Portugal, is known for his extensive collection of electronic music across various formats including digital, vinyl, compact disc, and tape. His hobby of curating electronic music genres such as Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout began in his formative years.
He spent countless hours perfecting his skills as a disc jockey and organising his vast library. In the early nineties, rave music faced resistance and was largely absent from Portuguese airwaves.
Through perseverance, DJ Joshua secured residencies on local stations and began sharing his passion for rave music. He expanded his reach through events at clubs and bars, building a strong reputation in his city and beyond.
After the birth of his first child, he took a break from events and radio. As his daughter grew, DJ Joshua reignited his passion for music with the Floating Beats podcast and radio series.
Over time, he has developed a dedicated following and continues his vision through various notable online outlets. He later introduced Velvety Elements to celebrate the deeper and more soulful side of House music.
His podcasts have been featured on international House and Techno radio stations, including our own. In his own words, "Music is an art form. The fusion of elements can convey emotions and make the body move. This is a place where you hear sounds that can float and end up falling onto your body. Enjoy it."
In his weekly shows, Joshua explores a blend of House Music and Techno sub-genres, including Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Soulful House, Progressive House, Techno, Vocal House, and Melodic Techno.
