DJ Joshua has unveiled the playlists for his weekly 'Floating Beats' and 'Velvety Elements' shows. Scientific Sound Asia, a leading electronic music station, promoter, and DJ agency in the region, continues to support Joshua's innovative musical endeavours.
Hailing from Evora, Portugal, DJ Joshua is celebrated for his extensive collection of electronic music across various formats, including digital, vinyl, compact disc, and tape. His passion for genres such as Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout began in his youth, where he dedicated hours to perfecting his DJ skills and managing his expansive music library.
Despite initial resistance to rave music in Portugal during the early nineties, Joshua's perseverance led him to secure residencies at local stations, introducing rave music to a wider audience. His reputation flourished through events at clubs and bars, though he took a break from public performances when he became a father.
As his daughter grew older, Joshua rekindled his connection to music by launching the 'Floating Beats' podcast and radio series. This series, along with his 'Velvety Elements' show, has gained a substantial following across several notable online platforms and has been broadcast internationally, including on Scientific Sound Asia, for the past two years.
Joshua’s philosophy on music is: "Music is an art form. The fusion of elements can convey emotions and make the body move. This is a place where you hear sounds that can float and end up falling onto your body, enjoy it."
His shows feature a rich blend of House Music and Techno sub-genres, including Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Soulful House, Progressive House, Techno, Vocal House, and Melodic Techno.
