DJ Joshua has released the latest playlists for his weekly 'Floating Beats' and 'Velvety Elements' shows. Scientific Sound Asia, the premier Asian electronic music station and DJ agency with a global reach continues to support Joshua's diverse musical journey.
Originating from Evora, Portugal, DJ Joshua is known for his vast collection of electronic music spanning various formats like digital, vinyl, compact disc, and tape. His passion for genres including Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout began in his youth when he dedicated extensive time to honing his craft and curating his expansive music library.
Despite initial resistance to rave music in Portugal during the early nineties, Joshua's perseverance led him to secure residencies at local stations, where he introduced rave music to a broader audience. His reputation grew through events at clubs and bars, although he took a hiatus from public performances when he became a father.
As his daughter grew older, Joshua returned to his roots by launching the 'Floating Beats' podcast and radio series, which has gained a substantial following across various online platforms. He later introduced 'Velvety Elements' to explore the deeper and more soulful aspects of House music. Both shows have been broadcast internationally, including on Scientific Sound Asia, over the past two years.
Joshua shares his perspective: "Music is an art form. The fusion of elements can convey emotions and make the body move. This is a place where you hear sounds that can float and end up falling onto your body, enjoy it."
His weekly shows feature a blend of House Music and Techno sub-genres, including Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Soulful House, Progressive House, Techno, Vocal House, and Melodic Techno.
