Scientific Sound Asia has unveiled the newest playlist for DJ Joshua's radio program, Floating Beats 677. As a prominent figure in the Asian electronic music scene, Scientific Sound Asia operates as a radio station, promoter, and DJ agency, playing a pivotal role in shaping the electronic music community across Asia.

DJ Joshua, hailing from Évora, Portugal, has been a significant figure in the electronic music scene since the mid-1990s. His extensive collection of digital files, vinyl records, CDs, and cassettes underscores his enduring dedication to the genre.

Throughout his career, he has mastered various styles, including Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout. Despite the challenges faced by the rave scene in Portugal during the 1990s, Joshua remained committed to electronic music.

He devised creative methods to produce and distribute his work, often collaborating with other artists to host events in clubs and bars. These venues became key meeting places for House and Techno enthusiasts, extending his influence beyond his local area.

After the birth of his child, Joshua reduced his involvement in events and radio to focus on his family. As his daughter grew older, his passion for music was reignited, leading to the launch of the Floating Beats podcast and radio show.

Celebrated for its diverse electronic music collection, the show highlights Joshua's exceptional mixing skills, thoughtful track selections, and emotional journeys through various genres. He views music as a spiritual refuge, guiding audiences on sonic adventures that transcend traditional artistic boundaries.

In 2023, Joshua delved deeper into music production, adopting several monikers to explore different facets of his creativity. Under the aliases K-Joshua, Joshua Marian, Joshua Fernand, and Joshua Onairam, he has released numerous tracks, each reflecting a unique style and influence.

To further support his production efforts and provide a platform for his diverse works, he founded JFLM Recordings in January 2024. Through this label, Joshua continues to contribute to the electronic music landscape, offering listeners a rich tapestry of sounds that showcase his versatility and passion for the art form.

DJ Joshua returns with Floating Beats 677, a mix packed with pulsating rhythms and expertly crafted techno selections. The journey begins with Stephen Lopkin’s "Mugs Alley", setting the tone with its immersive energy before transitioning into Jon Hester’s "Ripple Effects", bringing layered percussive elements and driving momentum.

The mix takes a deeper dive with Ian O’Donovan’s "Orient Express" and Antwon Faulkner’s "Resurgence", both delivering hypnotic synth progressions and sharp, rolling basslines. As the session unfolds, Marc Marzenit’s "9909LA (Warehouse Mix)" brings a warehouse-inspired groove, while Samuel L Session’s "Dumbek" and Keith Carnal’s "Sword Play" inject raw, hypnotic energy into the atmosphere.

Closing out this intense first hour, Vince Watson’s "A Very Different World (Funk D’Void Reshape)" adds a melodic yet powerful twist, and Satoshi Fumi’s "The Messenger (Ian O’Donovan Remix)" transitions seamlessly into Taho & Jules Wells’ "Live Tek Jazz", blending house grooves with techno precision. This episode is a must-listen for fans of high-energy techno and deep hypnotic beats.
