Scientific Sound Asia has unveiled the newest playlists for DJ Joshua's radio programs, Floating Beats and Velvety Elements. As a prominent force in the Asian electronic music scene, Scientific Sound Asia operates as a radio station, promoter, and DJ agency, playing a pivotal role in shaping the electronic music community in Asia.
Originating from Évora, Portugal, DJ Joshua has been a key figure in the electronic music scene for numerous years. His extensive collection of digital files, vinyl records, CDs, and cassettes highlights his enduring commitment to the genre.
During his career, DJ Joshua has excelled in numerous genres, such as Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout. Despite the challenges faced by the rave scene in Portugal in the 1990s, Joshua stayed committed to electronic music.
Facing societal challenges and criticism, he created innovative ways to produce and share his music. By regularly partnering with other artists, he organised events in clubs and bars, turning them into major centres for House and Techno enthusiasts, thus expanding his influence far beyond his local region.
After the birth of his child, DJ Joshua scaled back his participation in events and radio to prioritise his family. However, as his daughter grew older, his passion for music was rekindled, prompting him to start the Floating Beats podcast and radio show. This show is renowned for its diverse electronic music collection, showcasing Joshua's exceptional mixing abilities, thoughtful track selections, and emotional exploration across various genres.
DJ Joshua views music as a spiritual sanctuary that guides listeners on an auditory adventure beyond conventional artistic limits. In January 2024, he broadened his artistic influence by establishing JFLM Recordings, a record label focused on highlighting his creations and bolstering his production endeavors.
Floating Beats 673 offers a powerful first hour with a dynamic selection of Techno, Deep Tech, and Melodic House. DJ Joshua opens with the introspective vibes of Flabaire’s "Inwards" before transitioning into his own track, "Country Dusk", a melodic masterpiece. The set intensifies with DJ Bone’s "It All Starts Here" and the raw, hypnotic energy of Yoikol’s "Resonance Of Ghostly Frequencies" and Nuke’s "Ignorant Groovers."
