DJ Joshua, a prominent electronic music collector from Evora, Portugal, has released the latest playlists for his weekly radio shows, ‘Floating Beats’ and ‘Velvety Elements.’ As an integral part of Scientific Sound Asia, the leading electronic music station, promoter, and DJ agency in Asia with a global reach, DJ Joshua continues to showcase his deep passion for electronic music.

Known for his extensive collection of electronic music across various formats—including digital, vinyl, compact disc, and tape, DJ Joshua has dedicated much of his life to mastering his craft. During his teenage years, he immersed himself in genres like Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout, spending countless hours honing his skills as a DJ and meticulously organizing his vast music library.

In the early nineties, when rave music faced resistance in Portugal and was absent from the airwaves, DJ Joshua’s perseverance paid off as he secured residencies on local stations. This allowed him to share his love for rave music with a wider audience, eventually leading to his involvement in organizing events at clubs and bars. His reputation grew, not just in his hometown but beyond.

After taking a break to focus on fatherhood, Joshua returned to his roots by launching the ‘Floating Beats’ podcast and radio series. Over the years, his following has grown, and his shows have become staples on several notable online platforms. This success led him to create a second show, ‘Velvety Elements,’ where he explores the deeper, more soulful side of House music. Both shows have been broadcast internationally on Scientific Sound Asia for the past two years.

DJ Joshua describes his approach to music as an art form: "The fusion of elements can convey emotions and make the body move. This is a place where you hear sounds that can float and end up falling onto your body, enjoy it."

Each week, DJ Joshua dives into a rich blend of House and Techno sub-genres, including Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Soulful House, Progressive House, Techno, Vocal House, and Melodic Techno.

Tune in to DJ Joshua’s shows live on Monday, February 20th, 2023, from 6 PM to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT), with a re-airing on Friday from 6 AM to 8 AM (ICT).
