Scientific Sound Asia is proud to announce the latest playlists from DJ Joshua for his weekly radio shows, 'Floating Beats' and 'Velvety Elements.' As a key figure in the region's electronic music scene, DJ Joshua continues to captivate a global audience with his expertly curated sets.

Hailing from Évora, Portugal, DJ Joshua has earned a reputation as a dedicated collector of electronic music. His passion extends across a multitude of genres, amassing an impressive collection that spans digital formats, vinyl, compact discs, and tapes.

During his teenage years, Joshua's early collections focused on Techno, House Music, Drum and Bass, and Chillout. Countless hours were spent at home mastering the art of DJing and meticulously organizing his vast library of tracks.

In the early 1990s, as rave music faced resistance and was absent from Portuguese airwaves, Joshua's determination led him to secure residencies at local radio stations. Through these platforms, he introduced rave music to a broader audience, earning recognition for his passion and perseverance.

As he began performing at clubs and bars, his reputation quickly grew beyond his hometown. However, upon becoming a father, Joshua took a step back from public performances and radio shows to focus on family life. As his daughter grew older, he felt a strong pull back to his musical roots, leading to the creation of the 'Floating Beats' podcast and radio series. This show has since garnered a loyal following, broadcasting on several prominent online outlets.

Joshua's love for music didn’t stop there. He later launched 'Velvety Elements,' a show dedicated to exploring the deeper, more soulful side of House Music. Both of his podcasts, which have been broadcast internationally for the past two years, continue to showcase his deep connection to House and Techno.

In his own words, Joshua believes that "Music is an art form. The fusion of elements can convey emotions and make the body move. This is a place where you hear sounds that can float and end up falling onto your body—enjoy it."

Each week, DJ Joshua immerses listeners in a diverse mix of House Music and Techno sub-genres, including Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Soulful House, Progressive House, Vocal House, and Melodic Techno. His expertly curated sets offer a journey through the rich tapestry of electronic music, reflecting his enduring passion and commitment to the art form.

Listen to the shows live on Monday 13th of February 2023 from 6 PM to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT) and re-airing on Friday from 6 AM to 8 AM (ICT).
