DJ Joshua has unveiled the playlists for his weekly 'Floating Beats' and 'Velvety Elements' shows. Scientific Sound Asia is the premier Asian electronic music station and DJ agency with a growing global presence.

Hailing from Evora, Portugal, DJ Joshua is renowned as an electronic music collector. His passion lies in gathering a diverse array of electronic dance music genres across various formats, including digital, vinyl, compact disc, and tape.

During his teenage years, Joshua amassed a collection of Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout music. He dedicated countless hours to perfecting his skills as a DJ and meticulously organising his extensive collection.

In the early 1990s, rave music faced significant resistance and was largely absent from Portuguese airwaves. Through patience and determination, Joshua secured local radio residencies and began sharing his enthusiasm for rave music with a wider audience.

Joshua's reputation grew as he organised events at clubs and bars with close friends, earning acclaim in his hometown and beyond. After becoming a father, he took a hiatus from live events and radio but later felt compelled to return to his musical roots.

This led to the creation of the 'Floating Beats' podcast and radio series, which has built a loyal following over the years and is featured on several prominent online platforms. His passion for music inspired him to launch 'Velvety Elements', a show celebrating the deeper, soulful aspects of House Music.

Both podcasts are broadcast internationally, including on Scientific Sound Asia, and have been a staple for the past two years. Joshua describes his approach to music as "an art form. The fusion of elements can convey emotions and make the body move. This is a place where you hear sounds that can float and end up falling onto your body. Enjoy it."

Every week, Joshua explores a blend of House Music and Techno sub-genres, including Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Soulful House, Progressive House, and Vocal House. His shows also delve into the wider spectrum of electronic dance music, from underground music to DJ mixes, featuring both vinyl and digital DJing.

Listen to the shows live on Monday 23rd of January 2023 from 6 PM to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT) and re-airing on Friday from 6 AM to 8 AM (ICT).
