Scientific Sound Asia has released the latest playlists for DJ Joshua's radio shows, Floating Beats and Velvety Elements. As a key player in the Asian electronic music industry, Scientific Sound Asia functions as a radio station, promoter, and DJ agency, significantly influencing the electronic music scene in Asia.

Hailing from Évora, Portugal, DJ Joshua has played a vital role in the electronic music scene for many years. His vast array of digital files, vinyl records, CDs, and cassettes showcases his lasting dedication to the genre.

During his career, DJ Joshua has become proficient in a wide range of genres, such as Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout. Despite the challenges faced by the rave scene in Portugal in the 1990s, Joshua stayed committed to electronic music.

Confronted with societal challenges and criticism, he devised innovative methods to produce and distribute his music. By frequently collaborating with other artists, he arranged events in clubs and bars, transforming them into vital hubs for House and Techno fans, thereby extending his influence well beyond his local area.

Following the birth of his child, DJ Joshua reduced his involvement in events and radio to focus on his family. Yet, as his daughter matured, his enthusiasm for music resurfaced, leading him to launch the Floating Beats podcast and radio show. This program is celebrated for its eclectic electronic music collection, featuring Joshua's impeccable mixing, careful track choices, and emotional journey through different genres.

DJ Joshua views music as a spiritual sanctuary that transports listeners on an auditory voyage beyond conventional artistic limits. In January 2024, he broadened his artistic influence by establishing JFLM Recordings, a record label committed to featuring his compositions and bolstering his production endeavors.

In Floating Beats 668, DJ Joshua crafts a compelling first hour filled with minimalistic grooves, hypnotic techno beats, and deep house gems. Opening with Moodler’s "Black Orchid" and weaving through standout tracks like Marco Bailey’s "Neon Twilight" and Orlando Voorn’s "Tech IQ," the mix sets a rhythmic tone that oscillates between atmospheric and driving energy. Tracks like Sikora’s "In Resonance With The Sunlight" elevate the intensity, offering a dynamic exploration of the deeper layers of electronic music.

The second hour, Velvety Elements 240, takes a soulful turn, diving into the rich textures of Deep House and Jackin House. With Felipe Gordon’s "No Words" (Byron the Aquarius Dub Mix) and Demuir’s "Only God Can Save You" leading the charge, this set exudes groove and warmth. Joshua Marian’s "Nobody Waiting For Me" adds a reflective yet uplifting touch, while Dimsum’s "Rama to NY" rounds out the journey with a melodic flair.

Together, these two sets create an immersive listening experience, seamlessly blending genres and moods. Whether you’re drawn to the hypnotic pulls of techno or the soulful rhythms of deep house, DJ Joshua delivers a masterclass in electronic storytelling.

Don't forget to listen to his live radio show on Monday, December 9th, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m. Indochina Time (ICT). If you can't catch the live broadcast, a replay will be available on Friday from 6 to 8 a.m. (ICT).
