Scientific Sound Asia has unveiled the newest playlists for DJ Joshua's radio show, Velvety Elements episode 250. Renowned as a major force in the Asian electronic music scene, Scientific Sound Asia operates as a radio station, promoter, and DJ agency, playing a pivotal role in shaping the electronic music community in Asia.

Originating from Évora, Portugal, DJ Joshua has been a significant presence in the electronic music scene, with a career marked by enthusiasm, perseverance, and a continuously growing range of genres. His vast array of digital files, vinyl records, CDs, and cassettes showcases his lasting dedication to electronic music, enabling him to delve into a diverse array of sounds.

Although he has excelled in various genres over his career, such as Techno, Drum and Bass, and Chillout, House music has consistently been central to his artistic identity. Amid the difficulties encountered by the rave scene in Portugal during the 1990s, Joshua stayed committed, finding creative methods to share and distribute his music.

By partnering with other artists and organising events in clubs and bars, he fostered environments where House and Techno revellers could unite, greatly extending his impact beyond his local area.

After taking a break to concentrate on his family after his child's birth, Joshua found his passion for DJing reignited as his daughter got older, resulting in the launch of the Floating Beats radio show.

Floating Beats served as a venue for him to delve into a wide variety of electronic music, blending progressive, melodic, and deeper techno-infused sounds. Nevertheless, his affection for House music motivated him to start a second show: Velvety Elements.

Velvety Elements enables DJ Joshua to delve deeply into the gentler, more polished aspect of House music, merging warm grooves, soulful tunes, and detailed layering to offer an elegant auditory experience. The show emphasizes deep, smooth, and emotionally rich tracks, designed to surround listeners in a luxurious and sophisticated ambience, showcasing his precision as a selector and his intuitive skill in harmonising melodies.

Using his multiple aliases, K-Joshua, Joshua Marian, Joshua Fernand, and Joshua Onairam, he broadens his creative scope by exploring various forms of House music. In January 2024, he introduced JFLM Recordings, his label created to highlight his production efforts and offer a platform for his artistic vision. Velvety Elements marks another chapter in his continuous musical journey, leading listeners through a refined exploration of House music’s most sophisticated and captivating sounds.

This episode kicks off with Deep House songs like Basic Bastard’s "Engine," setting the tone for an evening of smooth and groovy beats. Tracks like Sound Set’s "So In Love With You (Re-Dub)" and Gideon Jackson’s "Give a Little" provide an irresistible flow, while Terry’s Dirtfrog Remix brings a fresh spin to the Deep House sound.

The mix continues to explore deeper territories with classics such as Mood II Swing’s "Got To Have It" and DJ Sneak’s "Elektrik Deep," each track adding its unique flavour to the overall journey. As the show unfolds, you’ll hear top-tier selections from the likes of Cinthie and Delano Smith, each blending perfectly to create a vibe that’s both uplifting and infectious.

Wrapping up with the minimalist yet captivating "Bukake" from Yere V., this episode of Velvety Elements 250 is a celebration of the best Deep House, Tech House and Deep Tech House tracks that keep the dancefloor alive. Perfect for fans of smooth grooves and timeless rhythms, this show is a must-listen for all music lovers.
