Marco Mei, a renowned Italian DJ and producer affiliated with Bicycle Corporation, has recently revealed the playlist for his upcoming radio show on Scientific Sound Asia. This organisation is well-known for hosting events and broadcasting electronic dance and urban music to a wide audience across Asia, including countries such as Japan, China, Thailand, Taiwan, Korea, and Sri Lanka, thereby attracting electronic music aficionados from around the globe.


Marco Mei has dedicated more than thirty years to the global electronic music scene. Celebrated for his eclectic and vibrant DJing style, he skillfully fuses Afrocentric rhythms with modern electronic sounds, enchanting audiences across the globe. His extensive understanding of various musical genres, coupled with his talent for creating compelling sets, has solidified his status as a respected figure within the industry.


Marco's journey commenced in the early 1990s, when he explored record shops in Turin and became significantly engaged in the city's underground music scene. His enthusiasm for House, Techno, and Afro-influenced sounds prompted him to join the Urban People collective, where he played a pivotal role in organising major events that contributed to the development of the local electronic music movement. His growing reputation led to a residency at the renowned Pacha Club in Sharm-El-Sheikh, Egypt, where he refined his skills and achieved international acclaim.


From that point, his career led him to clubs and festivals across the globe, where he has performed at prestigious venues including Woo Bar in Bali, The Mansion in Shanghai, Fuse in Brussels, and The Observatory in Ho Chi Minh City. Marco's influence goes beyond DJing, as he has also made a considerable impact in music production.


In 2009, he joined forces with fellow Italian producer Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884, to establish Bicycle Corporation. Together, they have released more than fifty tracks and remixes spanning genres such as House, Techno, French House, Deep House, and Tech-House. Their work has been showcased on prominent labels, including Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, GrooveTraxx, Suka, and Revox, thereby cementing their reputation as esteemed producers within the electronic music industry.


In 2010, Marco moved to Taipei, Taiwan, where he swiftly established himself as a prominent figure in the region's vibrant electronic music scene. His performances at various venues across Asia have garnered him a loyal fanbase, while his extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for music have made him a highly sought-after artist in the area. Alongside his live sets, Marco also presents a long-standing radio show on our station, Scientific Sound Asia, where he curates mixes that highlight his eclectic tastes and expert selections.


With considerable touring experience throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa, Marco Mei is a globally recognised figure in electronic music. His unwavering commitment to his art, innovative DJing techniques, and capacity to engage with a variety of audiences have established him as a prominent presence in the international dance music scene. DJ Marco Mei’s 2025 Episode 8 opens with the smooth, classic House vibes of Marshall Jefferson & Steve Mac’s “In The Night [Nu Groove],” setting a refined tone that pays homage to the genre’s roots while inviting you into a modern sonic journey.
