With over three decades in the music industry, Marco Mei has garnered a reputation for his vibrant and eclectic DJing style. Originating from Turin, Italy, Marco’s passion for music is evident in his ability to blend Afrocentric beats with the progressive tones of electronic music. Marco’s career began in the record shops of Turin, where he immersed himself in the local Afrocentric, House, and Techno scenes. It was during this time that he developed his signature fusion of genres, and through his involvement with the Urban People collective, Marco became a pivotal figure in organising influential House and Techno events across the city. His dedication to his craft allowed him to become an integral part of Turin’s underground scene.
As his reputation grew, Marco secured a residency at the iconic Pacha nightclub, leading him to Egypt, where he further honed his DJing skills in the bustling nightlife of Sharm el Sheikh. His performances quickly gained international recognition, and he began receiving bookings around the globe, taking his distinctive sound on an international musical journey.
Marco Mei's ability to connect with audiences and ignite dance floors has earned him a lasting place in the electronic music world. His performances at renowned venues such as G-Star in Thailand and Fuse in Belgium have solidified his status as an influential figure in the scene. Collaborating with legendary artists like David Morales, Marco has continually elevated his presence, earning him recognition from peers and fans alike.
As one half of Bicycle Corporation, along with Stefano Ugliano, Marco has significantly contributed to the electronic music scene. Together, they have produced over 50 original tracks and remixes, covering a wide range of genres, including House, Techno, French House, Deep House, and Tech-House. Their creative synergy has led to some memorable releases that have resonated within the global electronic music community.
In 2010, Marco relocated to Taipei, Taiwan, where he quickly became a key figure in the city’s vibrant music scene. His performances across various venues have earned him a dedicated following in Asia, and his impact continues to grow. Marco's extensive touring has seen him perform in culturally diverse environments across South Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe, cementing his place as a global ambassador for electronic music.
Before the global lockdowns, Marco took full advantage of opportunities to explore and engage with the nightlife in several cities. He left a lasting mark with performances at Roots Taipei and other notable events like the Electronic Roots series.
