Marco Mei, a renowned Italian DJ and producer associated with Bicycle Corporation, has recently unveiled the playlist for his forthcoming radio show on Scientific Sound Asia. This organization is recognised for organising events and airing electronic dance and urban music to a vast audience throughout Asia, including countries such as Japan, China, Thailand, Taiwan, Korea, and Sri Lanka, thereby drawing electronic music enthusiasts worldwide.
With over three decades in the music industry, Marco Mei is celebrated for his vibrant and eclectic DJing style. Originating from Turin, Italy, he skillfully blends Afrocentric beats with contemporary electronic music. His enthralling performances and profound understanding of various musical genres allow him to create compelling auditory experiences that resonate with audiences globally.
Marco began his career in music stores in Turin, where he immersed himself in the local Afrocentric, House, and Techno music scenes. By fusing these genres, he crafted a distinctive style with the Urban People crew, playing a key role in organizing major House and Techno events in the city, which established him as a prominent figure in Turin's underground music scene.
As Marco progressed in his career, he landed a residency at the famous Pacha nightclub, which became a significant milestone in his journey. This opportunity led him to Egypt, where he honed his DJ skills amidst the lively nightlife of Sharm el Sheikh. His performances garnered international praise, enabling him to showcase his unique sound at events worldwide.
Marco Mei is celebrated in the electronic music world for enthralling audiences and energising dance floors with his skill. His performances at prestigious venues like G-Star in Thailand and Fuse in Belgium have solidified his fame, and his partnerships with notable artists such as David Morales have boosted his standing in the industry.
Marco and Stefano Ugliano co-founded Bicycle Corporation, leaving a notable impact on electronic music genres. Together, they have produced more than fifty distinctive tracks and remixes in genres like House, Techno, French House, Deep House, and Tech-House, with their partnership significantly influencing the global electronic music scene.
After relocating to Taipei, Taiwan, in 2010, Marco quickly emerged as a key figure in the city's vibrant music scene. His performances at various venues have earned him a loyal following throughout Asia, with his influence continually expanding. With extensive touring experience in South Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe, he has become a global representative of electronic music.
Before the onset of global lockdowns, Marco took every opportunity to explore and participate in nightlife scenes around the world. His performances at venues like Roots Taipei and events like the Electronic Roots series left a lasting impression on audiences, showcasing his talent for captivating crowds with his dynamic and creative performance style.
